Burnout...on two wheels!
2008-04-24 01:04:19 by Kudgel
Criterion announced today that its racing videogame Burnout Paradise will add motorcycles in a future update code named "Davis", which is scheduled for August. Even more awesome, this inclusion will see new modes, challenges and locations tailored to this new means of transportation. Also, it will be possible to race during night time, another first for this series.

Sounds good to me, wonder how the pricing will be. Burnout surprised me in a good way, tbh. Was really enjoying the time I had with it. Don't think I'll buy the DLC, tho. I finished it pretty fast and the replay value is just not there. They should have put in harder achievements.

They also have planes (yeah flying ones) planned for a future update.
I just hope they let us punch/kick other bikers if we're not getting a proper next-gen Road Rash

Sounds like something that should have been in this "sequel"

I'd rather have fun and get the achievements through normal play than be forced to do, I don't know something moronic like; "10,000 power slides while in a road rage" or what have you.

Didn't "Burnout 2: Point of Impact" already feature night time races? I somehow remember speeding down a suburban area street and along an airport terminal in the dark.

Yep, it did have nighttime races. Rainy ones too. Come to think of it, there was also a better selection of vehicles. Buses, trucks, etc. Burnout was definitely more awesome before EA got involved.

Paradise was my favorite Burnout in a while, but still not as good as two. I'd rate them like Burnout 2 > Paradise > 3 > Revenge

its gonna be pretty weird having bikes....i mean, the cars currently in the game dont even have drivers, im guessing to keep the age rating low. what happens to the rider if you crash on a bike? does he just vanish into thin air while the motocycle gets crumpled?
nice addition tho. same with the night races....(which from what i recall HAVENT been in a burnout game before) hopefully its just a day/night cycle. rather then just certain races being at night. should be good tbh. might get me playing again.

@viginti_tres: The DLC will be for free ;) And you don't seem to play online, or just don't really like the game, because the online mode is keeping the game interesting like forever.
I think this is the best Burnout game ever. I played them all, but I can't really understand, why everyone loves B2. It was a great game, but the takedowns made the series really awesome imo.

yep! burnout 2 was really a great game it was far too short, thogh it was the best burnout game ever imo. the only feature added by EA which made the series much more superior, are the takedowns, but somehow they only work in b3, revenge and even paradise both lost the focus on the core idea of takedowns.
I didn't end paradise yet, 'cause it got boring to me after a while, that has never happened before revenge.

motorcycles in a burnout game? I don't think that this is going to work, it didn't work for me in pgr4 und didn't work in tdu either, it got annoying to me after a while each time I was forced to use bike in pgr4 or being kicked by a car while sitting on my tdu bike... so no bikes for me please ^^
racing at night will be great, though I personally like it more daytimes

I was half expecting there not to be riders on the bikes, since the cars are driver less.
I don't see how bikes would work well in a Burnout game.

All I've done the whole time was online racing and free mode with my friends. Imo the game is only worth buying if you got XBL because it added so much more value to it, I wouldn't wanna miss it out.

don't get me wrong, motorcycles would be a great addition to this series, but first things first- Give us an update or sequel to bring back crash mode and get rid of that worthless showtime mode!!!
