Trailer of GRiD

Trailer of GRiD

Codemasters are really starting their hype machine for GRID, releasing yet another trailer for GRID. This one features the main judge of the European Drifting Championship (didn't know such existed), and more importantly it shows more of the awesome looking forrest stages in the game as well as several other tracks. The game is planned to be released in June, and personally I can't wait to play this.

I haven't exactly kept up with all the news on this game, but what exactly does it do that isn't being done in other racers?

The same can be said to most games... like GT5... other than better graphic what else does it have? All I'm seeing for most games are just better graphics that's all.

The only difference in most games nowadays is that some game use graphic to better the story telling like Bioshock and COD4.

I think it's called 'Fun', 'Racing' and 'Excitement' which from what I've played of GT5, it doesn't have any.

Does it have to include groundbreaking elements to be enough for you, or?

The physics in the game break the game, and thus I declare this game crap. It also shows how irrelevant this interviews with "experts" are. He makes it sound like this game has an ounce of realism.

It's just a waste of an engine and I hope this game does terrible so Codemasters starts thinking about gameplay for once.

I have to agree, the physics in this game are really poor, even worse than the physics in GT5.

The graphics are amazing though.

I agree I've been waiting for ever for a raceing game for the ps3 now grid have answer the call. GT just don't do any thing for me the cars look good but everthing else is just weak. But grid on the other hand look good all around.

I'm sorry... but why are people saying the physics is bad... since they've not played the game yet... >.>

It's an ARCADE racer and probably a good one at that.
Currently Loving DIRT, it's just plain fun!
Won't teach you to drive for Sh#T but that's expected from an ARCADE racer

Firstly, it's the same engine that powered Dirt and that game was Broken. Great graphics but poor frame rate and the physics were awful. Drove nothing like a real car. Imagine that the car you frove did not have four wheels but one large one under the centre of the car that it pivoted on. That was Dirt. The actual gameplay videos of grid that we've seen indicate that it controls the same way with a pivoting car. Code masters seem to be ignoring gameplay this gen which is a shame as I hear that their previous games controlled pretty well. To be fair though after playing Live for speed on the PC with a G25 most games come across very arcadey but with code masters it seems like you're not even controlling what could be called a car by any standards.

Ehh, since when were arcade racers meant to behave like real cars? It's pretty stupid to badmouth a game that is not meant to be a simulator for not being a simulator.

Btw. the engine is not the same as the one in Dirt. It's an evolved version of it. And for what it's worth, what can be gathered from those videos, the physics seem fitting for an arcade style racer so far. The real test, of course, comes when you can play it yourself. Which I believe no-one here has done. So far, it looks promising given the genre.
