Xbox 360 PS3

SouthPeak Interactive has released a bunch of images of X-Blades, to be released on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. The game has, according to the official website, yet to get a "platform approval" from SCEA on Playstation 3, but the Xbox 360 and PC versions are on course for a release at the end of this year.

I don't think anyone actually 'grows out' of female characters unless they lose their libido.

However the girl is just being used to sell the game, which is why it's dumb.

It's funny how, after seeing the trailers for it, it seems to play a lot like Devil May Cry. Over the top combos, alternating between shooting and melee real-time. Heck, the graphics don't even look too far apart. Does anyone actually know anything about this game aside from what we've seen in these screens and the two trailers? I hear a lot of people ripping on it, and it seems to be just because the game is Russian.

Nice lighting and texturing. I could care less what the character is or looks like, as long as the game is fun.

Could care less on the first character but after watching the gameplay video I found this game looks a TON of more interesting then this still screens. And I play it 10 folds over heavenly sword to.

It's not that we find the material to be so offensive. Hell I enjoy seeing a nice applebottom just a much as any guy. But more often than not we see the same formula for female game characters being used over and over again.

Agreed, but the same can be said for a lot of male characters as well. I personally prefer playing as a male character because I feel more bad-ass and capable regardless of what I'm doing in the game. Even in a wholly unreal game, I find the idea of a waif-thin, half naked chick fighting too unbelievable. Also, with male characters, you can have them be different sizes and builds; nobody wants to play as a fat chick.

yeah. im waiting for a developer team to just say "fuck it, we're not even gonna try" and just make the female character completely naked in a game.

Well I agree solidly with both of you. The only difference of course is the ridiculous caricatures.

The super sized breasts and un-realistic body proportions. LOL! The metal bras, the bare arms, legs and mid-sections, the Daisy Duke shorts, the HIGH HEELS! LOLOL!!

But again both of you are right. Considering how many hours we spend with their creations, developers should be creating more worthwhile male and female characters.

There are plenty of other games with steroid-abusing male protagonists for you to get your jollies off on. While I don't mind female main characters this one is just awful. There's not an ounce of inspiration in it. The developers may be fans of anime but apparently their artists/modelers are not.

I don't see what the problem is. I mean there are games with guys in loin cloths that nobody complains about. Hell, in 1 level of MGS2 you play as Raiden naked! Then again judging by some of the comments here some of you probably enjoyed that...

Wow, I can't believe there are ANY positive comments about this game. This is an everyday, generic hack-n-slash, complete with a sorry excuse for T&A. I'm a horny little bastard by any means, but that character does NOTHING for me.

The environment do look nice in the background, bare and flat in the foreground, but nice. It's a pity the gameplay looks so... unpolished. I'm a big fan of small developers but all too often aim above their ability or don't focus on the important stuff (in this case, it's all too clear that the graphics are more important than the gameplay).

And the character speaks volumes of their immaturity. The least said about her the better. *sigh*

I think this is looks quite refresing compared to the constant death, war and blood theme of the past 2 years of gaming.
