Wouldn't it have been great if they made an edition with an efficient install on both PC and 360? I own the PC one, OMG that install and update was the worst thing ever, the 360 beta install was the same too.

I've heard a lot of rumoring that FF14 would be a MMO like this one. I thought it was pretty good too, but no MMO ever kept me interested anywhere near as long as EQ1.

This has actually spurred me to drop WoW and start playing FF11 again, how long it will last I can not say.

I haven't played it since the new expansion came out.

FF11 is one of those game (much like WoW) that will always pull me back because I have so much fun playing them, but I agree it is time for a next gen effort.

Everytime SE are asked they say its still in development but I sometimes wonder.

I very much doubt the next MMO will be a FF title, rumor suggest it is World of Mana, but who knows, hopefully SE will show something of their next MMO at TGS this year.

Nice one Square, thanks for the rehashed crappy ass games.

Uh rehashed? What? Its an expansion, new content. Just like every MMO gets.

I would of considered replaying this if it came to the PS3 but I'm not going to run it on my PC again. It's not worth the trouble of clearing free space and dealing with occasional slow time and disconnection.

Why? WOW is still reeling in the dough.. but Squaresoft could hit it big with another MMORPG. I'd rather see Blizz and company work on getting SC2 and Diablo 3 out the door before they even consider making another MMORPG.

Do people even play FFXI anymore. It's been around for like half a decade. This is almost like trying to resurrect Ultima Online isn't it?

People still play Ultima Online, mostly on free shards, but I believe there are still subscribers on EA's servers even. EA is trying to resurrect it too, they're getting Mythic to develop a brand new client for UO (Kingdom Reborn). It's a load of shit really, it's EA's biggest investment ever into UO which is quite sad, since it's one of the most important and best designed MMORPG's ever made.

And no, it's not quite like that, UO is more than a decade old (1997), and here in the US FFXI isn't even five yet on the PC and just turned four on the Playstation. In Europe the game isn't even four...

Blizzard has bigger competition to worry about coming out this year, especially a certain game called Warhammer. Although honestly, I think Warhammer looks and plays too much like WoW.

What's up?
  • digi_matrix
digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (3 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (9 Hours ago)
  • Megido
Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (10 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (11 Hours ago)

alimokrane @SimonM7: Dude That's amazing. Do u draw that stuff ?? (11 Hours ago)
