Sony's press site had been updated with this image of Killzone 2, hopefully followed by more soon. Also worth mentioning, the game has been delayed to February 2009, but I don't think anyone is really surprised.

Also you forgot to mention Tekken 6 ,Haze, MGS 4, Driver 5, Valkyrie Chronicles ;)
Indeed, there will be more games, but none of those (except for MGS4) are big blockbuster titles or titles that seem to aim at Triple A levels. On the other hand, Microsoft for example, has a few of them, only that they aren't talking about about them... yet... say Gears of War 2, Alan Wake, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie 3, Ninja Gaiden II and even Too Human... (without mentioning the Oriental Infinite Undiscovery) None of which has been delayed to next year and here's hoping they do make it for launch.

All in all, each time Sony announces a delay, Microsoft looks in a much better position regarding GOTY contenders for 2008... and thefore, software sales figures.

lol that is the scene from the first CGI trailer @E3 2005

it looks so shitty compared to what they promised us back then

and it looks ok for a game that would come out now but it doesn't for a game that maybe won't come out 2008, so by the time it comes out Gears2 will kill it visually and since the first one was nothing but mediocre i don't expect much from this one

Uhhh, what are you talking about? Plenty of jaggiez. That scene is very doable, even for PS3.

In my opinion, the shot is a little bland and washed-out. When I see it, I don't think, "Hey, I want to play that." Not impressed.

Killzone 2 is ment to be seen in motion were so much stuff is going on with so much effect is in motion and great animation from the characters.

I bet once that trailer is up in fully HD like 720p and 1080p this shot wont be worth a second watch while the trailer there is gonna be many.

That single image looks DAMN GOOD. But to be the devil's advocate... it doesn't look any better than Gears of War. And with Gears 2 coming- sooner than Killzone 2 - Killzone 2 better bring the goods like nobody's ever seen. And Killzone sure isn't a foundation set to build on...

Just sayin'.

I think Sony matches up pretty well to them. On the PS3 side, for AAA titles this year, you've got MGS4, White Knight Chronicles, Little Big Planet, and Resistance 2. Not a bad haul by any means and certainly good enough to go up against Microsoft's big hitters. And for an extra oriental RPG, you've got Valkyria Profile which looks intriguing to say the least. As for 360 software delays, Fable 2 may get delayed; after all, Peter Monoleux is a perfectionist. Also, Too Human hasn't shown me enough to be a AAA title and neither has Banjo 3. However, you did forget Halo Wars which does look to be a AAA title.

Wow, looks good. Nice work from Sony. Can't wait to get my hands on this title. Though Crysis would still look better i guess!

Okay - the video looks fairly mediocre to me (people say its the effects that make it look good, but i can't help but think the smoke effects look awful and static), but what's to say that when you see it in 720p, you wont notice even more imperfections? Just because it looks good in sub 480p doesn't mean it will look even better in 720p. Youtubes awful quality may just be masking poor graphics - For example - Halo 3 looked good on youtube.

This reminds me quite a bit of Frontlines...

This is pretty good, nicely balanced gfx all around, but I'd guess Resistance 2 looks even better.

I don't care about FPS' on the PS3, although I would buy KIllzone if I actually owned a PS3.

I'm still waiting for a decent enough library of RPGs so that the PS3 can replace the PS2 as my primary RPG/jRPG console.

But the development cycles for the PS3 just continue to drag on and on.
