While waiting for some real gameplay, here is the attract mode video of Killzone 2 as filmed a few minutes ago by Snoopers during the Gamer's Day event. Update: First part of the gameplay video is up.
Update 2: Second part of the video added.

Yeah, because a fanboy calling people with criticism "haters" is a surefire bet for awesomeness. It really is.
People saying nonsense like: it looks like a xbox1 game, must be a nvidia card, kz1 was crap so kz2 must be crap as well, and more of that good stuff is hardly healthy criticism.

If the biggest beef you had with KZ1 was the frame rate i'd advise you to go out there and play some GOOD fps games. Now admittedly the main bulk of FPS titles on the ps2 were complete fecal matter, but that doesn't make KZ a good game. It only makes it better by comparison. Which isn't saying much.
I've played every relevant fps game since the early 90's on all platforms - from Wolfenstein to Crysis. So i'd advise you to stop pretending to know which games i did or didn't play.
I never said KZ1 was a good game.It had major framerate problems, some graphical glitches, repetitive VA, and some questionable AI. But it also had great graphics (for ps2 anyways), nice and varied environments, a great atmosphere, good weapons/reload animations and cool looking enemies. Simply put probably the best mediocre game i've played.
So what i took away from that experience was that it was something that could've been great, if it weren't for the problems, with framerate being on top of the list.
It just showed so much potential, but the ambition was too high for the relatively weak ps2.
A steady, locked 30 fps would (imo) have made the game good (not great) instead of mediocre.So yeah, framerate was my biggest beef with the game.
That said, they've pretty much got rid of the bad stuff of KZ1, and retained and very much improved on the good stuff. Which increases my hype.

Now KZ2 looks splendid but like i said earlier, it's not the graphics or production values that worry me, it's the gameplay. And the groin cam.
You're judging gameplay based on a pre-alpha on an exhibition event.Which means that AI routines havent been fully implemented yet, the game is put on easy or god-mode or both, and as announced, it has 9 months of development time left. So some nuance would be appreciated.
Even a beta version has room for improvements and additional polish and adjustments, so judging a pre-alpha on gameplay merits is really reaching for straws imho.
k79: i'm not juding KZ2 gampleay from videos i've seen, because videos vs actually playing can be very different, not to mention where in the development process the game is currently. Actually i don't think i've ever said that it IS crap, only that i think it will be. If i stated that KZ2 is crap as a fact, i'm sorry, i didn't mean to do so.
KZ1 was pretty bad, which you are very aware of since you listed plenty of flaws, imo and Liberation has great potential but is totally and utterly destroyed by it's lack of pace and stupid control scheme. So basically their track record is not speaking for this title. I don't care how ambitious they are as they were the same with KZ1 or what their press releases say.
Now I won't say it sucks untill i've tried it but i won't be expecting much from this game in terms of game design.
JediMasterMalik: From certain perspectives BioShock was a complete pile of shit. I mean...the game had superb atmosphere and presentation but then what? The gameplay was flawed what with the respawn points all over the place that revived you whenever you died completely without penalty which in it's turn took all the fear and awe out of the big daddies. Basically you didn't have to be careful at all, just go forth gung ho, if you die that doesn't matter. Also hacking was way too easy. It would have been better of as a stat check or something. The whole game is just SystemShock 2 repackaged and prettied up. Imo Bioshock was more of an experience than a game. I enjoyed walking through Rapture, listening to the audio logs, but as a GAME it was terrible.

Yeah sure that why it has a 96% average on metacritic, the gameplay was was flawed but still good and the combat was satisfying as hell when you used the right weapons and biotics, and you can turn off the respawning or just load the game when you die.

Megido: Fair enough. Just let me say that Bungie made crap before Halo too (oni), and GG really has a lot more funding and a bigger team now, being a part of Sony.
Let's just agree to disagree on the outcome of KZ2 ;)
Looks great, it looks like the 2 tone color pallet is here to stay, but i feel it gives the game a gritty realistic edge so i dont mind it, were are all the website previews of the demo?, you would think that they would all have there impressions up by now. I want to hear how it feels when they play it, it looks to be coming along nicley, i was vey upset that it got pushed to 09, but after looking at my games to buy and play this year MGS4/TOO HUMAN/NG2/FABLE 2/SW Unleashed and GOW2! will keep me busy untill Feb'09 when it comes out.
It does look awesome indeed, some nice smoke fx and explosions! Still, it's no leap from COD4...I'm not sure if I can even decide which looks better.
Gameplay looks tight enough, except maybe for the A.I. Controls need some work, though changing the bleeding look sensitivity from extremely slow to something more acceptable would help (how can anyone play like that)?! I hope just adjusting the sensitivity will solve this and that it doesn't end up with the painfully "heavy" aiming feel ala Perfect Dark Zero (horrible I tell you)!
I'm loving the sprint (you just gotta have a sprint button), and I also dig little touches like the slight "sway" when he zooms in with the gun. Sliding into cover is definitely cool aswell! Hit reactions are cool aswell, some very nice animations there.
The game seriously needs some more pronounced colours imo, and the environments better get more interesting than what we're seeing now...seriously.
The gun detail is incredible, love the lighting effects, its a shame the world textures are so poor and theres too much motion blur for an FPS, Crysis had the same problem, its really distracting and makes my eyes hurt.
Gameplay-wise, its really bad, A.I is non existent, it just doesnt look fun at all, dont like the COD4 style scripted gameplay either.

im the opposite, i agree that the textures arnt uber amazing. but with lighting and animation like that im not sure it needs to be (just look at gta4) AI wise it looks good (halo/gears of war quality easily) and gamplay wise, as you said, its looking a lot like cod4, which considering the games popularity, is far from being a bad thing.
that footage sath posted blew me away. it looks phenomenal. i cant get over how good the effects like lighting, and smoke look. i mean, the smoke actually sticks around for more then 2 seconds for a change.
its pretty much the only FPS i've REALLY looked forward to for a long time. i've played pretty much all FPS's good and bad and this is the first time in years i've actually being excited by one.

No it has a high score on meta critics because reviewers are whores and because they don't separate gameplay from presentation.

That's some nice ownage right there.
And what the Sony fanboys don't understand is that Sony are the ones who claimed their console would destroy 360 out of the gate. Are some of you forgetting that little detail? M$ never said anything like that.
Are you seriously still not over that? This is borderline trolling. Cut it out.

Presenting the facts is now considered trolling? Interesting.
No, but posting negative comments in every Sony related thread is. You're establishing a pattern that's not exactly hard to pick up on. Not to mention this insistence on what "Sony fanboys" don't seem to get--when you're pretty much putting it out there that you're either a fanboy yourself, or just a plain 'ole hater.
So you're not impressed by the PS3's power--we get it already. If you're so uninterested in this content, then why is it that you're so drawn to talking about it? You've made downright cyclical comments about Killzone already spanning multiple threads.. and it hasn't ended there either.
KORNdog: okay so here's my opinion
*Flawed death/respawn system.
*Story and system recycled form a 12 year old game.
*Dumbed down system from SystemShock2 (no inventory etc).
*Combat is dumbed down thanks to no penalty at death.
*Hacking is WAY too easy.
Your defense? That it rates high on meta critics? Or is "its simply a great game" enough of a defense? Great atmosphere and visuals coupled with great music and voice overs makes for a great experience, but i still think the gameplay part is way below what it should be.
Enough of this at any rate, this thread is about KZ2, not bioshock.

Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)

Looks amazing, so much shit going on the screen it really feels so epic and intense, and it is obvious that, that is what Guerilla is striving for.
The lighting, bloom, smoke...etc. is awesome as well, really great!
PS. Shut that shitty music off and turn on the games sound!
* 20 weapons (total)
* Vehicles
* Various of color scheme/style/environments.

Besides, I am glad they delayed it, more time to make it better and bigger and as polished as they can for a great experience.
