GD08: 720p Killzone 2 gameplay

It looks like our coverage of the Gamer's Day is now done, so we decided to reencode our Killzone 2 footage with the best quality possible. Full 720p resolution and better deinterlacing/deblending helps quite a bit to see the little details everywhere. I'm sure the numerous fans of the game will be pleased!

60 million USD well spent ;)) I have to admit that I was expecting much worse ... thus I am nicely surprised - a big boo for the delay to 2009 though ... and it looks like it won't win any FPS innovation awards either ...

Graphics look good, but imo the gameplay looks below average and boring.

I like the graphics but I think the art style is more impressive than the actual tech behind it.
The Helghast looking much like the special police force from Jin-Roh, the assault rifle is combination between an Enfield L85A1 with the design of a SIG 550 and hardly any HUD which makes it more immersive.
I hope they still plan to implement a mode without and HUD at all.
Gameplay wise it’s looking like CoD4 with a bit more open levels. I like CoD4 so that’s actually a compliment no criticism.

To be honest, this game is NOT great looking. For one, there are 3 colors in the game. Orange, Black, and grey. Its not like Gears, where the color sare just dull, its full on black and white. And all the effects are all the same color. ORANGE. Not just orange, ORANGE ORANGE. And the textures are not that great. WHich is to say they are SHIT, but you can't tell because their either flat colors, or the high contrast etc makes it hard to see the crappiness.
THAT SAID:
I do kind of like the way the game is looking. I sorta like the style. Actually, I really like it. The gameplay however is looking same ol same ol. So unless they can bring something like story to the table to make the game worth it I would love it. But as a 360 owner, I'm not desperate for FPS's unless their really good and stand out from others. Looking forward to stuff to come.
Also, anyone else think they slapped an "alpha" label on it to make people think its especially good looking for being so "early" in development? I mean we had media coming around last year for gods sake. It seems like its a bit late to still be in alpha... But w/e.
