Xbox 360

An anonymous journalist released two images of Rare's mysterious Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts on an italian forum. Of course we were around and immediatly caught them. Here they are for your enjoyment, and we should have a lot more information coming very soon anyway.

I love RARE! Graphics are really nice! Textures and colours are really nice! Can only look better in motion right?

Why the RARE hating? Kameo was an excellent game I thought! Perfect Dark Zero was also a very solid title! Online was really good! Viva Pinata was also a very good game with excellent graphics!

Tuesday cant come quick enough!

Perfect Dark Zero was adequate and Kameo was quite good. So many other franchises(mainly nintendo franchises) have been dying slowly since rare split up and left. I'm hoping this turns out to be ok.

i dont like their latest offerings because they fall short at some point. kameo was pretty uninspired design wise (i mean, look at the main character lol), visually it was pretty nice, but the gameplay fell short. and that seems to be the case with everything since they where bought by MS. grabbed by the ghoulies was quite a unique idea, looked pretty decent but was a chore to play. perfect dark again, should have been good since the previous one was, and looked pretty nice (except for the shine on eveything) but gamplay wise felt dated and boring. and as much as i enjoyed viva pinata, there really wasnt the depth and variety the game needed, yet again it looked great. basically RARE have turned into a all style, no substance developer in my eyes. which is a shame since their older stuff (both N64 era and earlier) where amazing.

gamersyde.......have like only xbox ?just like gametrailers ?..........
There were two sites. One for Xbox 360, called Xboxyde, the other one for Playstation, called Playside. Then the sites fused and it also started showing stuff for Wii, but likely by far the Xbox 360 site was updated most and I think it had much more visitors too.

Gotta say, those graphics are pretty god-like. I gotta say, Rare has almost always top notch in the graphical department.

each next gen machine is only as good as the devs hands that it is in, neither has reached its limits yet, even if the devs may come out and say they have.

A mini-image from "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" -yes, that's the actual title":

And another from "Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise":

The norwegian site from which they came had these comments -slightly corrected machine translation incoming...-:

"After eight years the amusing bear Banjo returns soon in better shape than ever"

"The sweet animals from Microsoft's Piñata Park come back in a more focused and accessible game."

In case you're wondering, this is the site I was talking about:

http://www.varden.no/section/FORBRUKER07/1228

There are links to both previews, but they're not working yet. I guess we'll have to wait until the embargo expires... :-| I would be grateful if anyone with better Norwegian than mine -easy, as I don't know a thing- came up with a proper translation of those blurbs.

Cheers - Chisholm

You're right, it's not a CG-like Sony "game" (movie). It's real-time. No one can touch Rare when it comes to fantasy graphics. No one. Period.

There's a very fine line between stating an opinion and trolling, and you were clearly doing the latter. If you want to continue expressing your extremely biased, fanboy opinion, head over to Gametrailers, you'll be welcome there.
Unless he was being offensive, not being wrong, he shouldn't have been banned. But I wouldn't be surprised if he was. I do that stuff all the time without realizing =p

The game looks great to me tech wise. Def has a fairly LBP look to it. Nice sharp textures and stuff.

Rare ruined Rare.
I have to agree with grift on this one. Rare has failed to evolve in their games and it shows! Same old everything that was good in the N64 days but doesnt cut it anymore. Rare never lost their touch it's just others gained new senses.

You realize that a lot of the original team left since the Nintendo 64 days correct?

Looks better than the CGI to me. The resolution and anti-alias looks insane. Can't wait for a fun/cartoony platformer. We need more games to not shy away from this artstyle.

but theys point where the devs can't go any further, if you look at the technical side of the competition in their games and look at xbox 360 you can see the difference. at first i thought it was the devs but multiple games are starting to have that same look, even fable 2 almost looks like this

Man this looks SWEET!!! I love their engine on the 360, everything looks so incredibly CG like, exactly like a CG cartoon movie would. Banjo owned on the 64, second best platformers of the generation only behind Mario 64 of course, and really only outpaced by Mario Galaxy recently. Come on Rare, I know you still have the magic left, Kameo was great and Viva Pinata showed that you still have the style.

YES. That is how I feel, too. Going by Kameo I'm sure this game will look and play fantastic.

Korndog, stop the hate. Kameo, besides part of the main character design, was definitely not uninspired. The graphics were way past cool, and it was fun to play. A good break from the same old same old. PDZ on the other hand was just aight, in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reliving the cool 64 days again with this one. I should also jump on Mario Galaxy. A good break from the usual WE soccer or FPS multiplayer for me.
