Little Big Planet will ABSOLUTELY NOT be a system mover for Sony! The game may have the appearance of mass appeal but its control dynamic are very much hardcore! This is NOT a game you can play using only 2 buttons. Anyone who has had some hands-on time with this game can tell you that the controls are deep! Not that it is a bad thing but LBP feels like some serious homework at times! It requires you to invest some serious time. There's no denying that it will be some of the best time you will spend this year.
Eventhough I doubt that most people will care for too long about this game. There's way too much good stuff on the horizon that bears the tag "pick-up & play".
I do think that the problem lies with us because most gamers have a very short attention span. If MGS and LBP where the only games to be released this year... yeah it probably would have sold by the dozens.
Most gamers are very frugal because they can only purchase a certain amount of games per year. And this is the majority of us. Most will save their money for RFOM 2, MERCS 2 or some other high profile game.
It will be very interesting to see how Sony will end up pricing this game. An SRP of 49 euros would be the right choice here! But knowing Sony they will price it as high as their current games.
The concept is really cool and fresh but the graphic seems to have aged bad. Not looking as hot as before and even fugly but it doesnt mather. Creating and building your own levels is a good way to spend your time.
