Trailer of Star Ocean 4

Microsoft showed some of their console's upcoming RPGs in Japan today, and a bunch of trailers were released on the Marketplace. First out here is Star Ocean 4, and we might have a 720p version up here later. The trailer confirms a 2009 release and nothing about Playstation 3.

Same here. It was a great opening trailer for the game, leaving us wanting more.

Man my faw RPG series coming to Xbox 360 nice :) cannot afford a PS3 overpriced pretty much ( i could give less crap for movies )

In any event.

From this trailer, does that confirm that this is a prequel to the series?

Must say 360 is really dominating JRPG's this gen. Most likley this is just a timed exclusive but none the less it's a real statement of intent from MS.
Shame othing from Mistwalker was shown at this event though. I was hoping to see more from Cry On.

Nice, but the lack of a Playstation 3 announcement shouldn't be surprising; this was after all a MICROSOFT event (just like the Mirror's Edge showing at the Sony event a while ago, that didn't mention a 360 version). Just wait a while and we'll get a PS3 announcement in a little bit.

lmao, sony messed up this gen big time, props to MS for getting these rpgs even if they all bomb in japan, us westerners want the game just as much as they do :)

Because you cant leave your seat and you have to stare at the progress bar while it does it, right? And you wont get any benefit from it, right? >.>

Having to switch discs inbetween chapters, seems better than having to wait while the game has to install at those chapters.. The MGS dig at that was ridiculous, switching discs isn't THAT much of a problem, I'd much rather be able to continue playing the game quickly rather than sit through more installs.

And no, from what we've seen thus far, the reduced load times from the installations have been negligable.

how do you know there will be loading times between battles and locations on the 360. But it will be on more that one disc on the 360 thats for sure.

In the case of Lost Plante on the PS3 there was no benefits at all.

Id take the load times(although even with the installs many PS3 titles are just on par with 360 in terms of loading) over being able to play all my games. You see, as a 20G PS3 owner my HDD is full with installs that are mandatory. So that means to play another game, I have to delete a game, then to play the old game again, I have to reinstall the file thus the 20min file becomes a lot more of a hastle.

In anycase, who cares. The game is announced as coming to 360 first, no PS3 announcement yet so lets just live with that.
