Trailer of Rise of the Argonauts

Trailer of Rise of the Argonauts

Codemasters and Liquid Entertainment release a new CGI trailer of Rise of the Argonauts, nervous action game featuring heroes and monsters of the greek mythology. We can't wait to put our hands on it, maybe next month at E3 ? The game is planned to be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC at the end of the year.

Couldn't care less about CGI footage.

This is some nice CGI. It's been a long time since I've seen CGI used(Lost Odyssey had some beautiful CG scenes), and I don't know why it's rarely being used anymore.

True but bukcets of money too! CGI takes a lot of time/money. Wait for FF13, they are the best of the bunch when it comes to CGI. the world of warcraft guys are also up there with Square Enix.

This should be a solid action game. I wish the 300 game would have looked like this.

And they don't use CGI anymore because in most games you just don't need it, it's a thing from the past where some stuff just was impossible to do in real time.

Whenever a publisher releases a CGI Trailer I just don't watch it (unless the game's totally interesting for me anyway). Who wants to see what a game won't look like?^^

What are you talking about, you mean the vids that took hours to render on supercomps can be easily made on consoles? No way, the beauty of CGs never replaces in-game cut-scenes.

You're thinking about it the wrong way. CGI isn't something used to fool you. Usually CGI shows what the developer actually wanted you to see. It allows his or her vision to come across better. For example, the part of Lost Odyssey where Kaim enters the train and heads towards the city. The CG scene was used to show how Sakaguchi truly imagined how the city should look. People thought that this gen would break the barriers between in game and CGI, and well, it hasn't. It has come close though.

Cool trailer. I'm a sucker for the greek mythos so I'll keep an eye on this.

digi_matrix Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (1 Hour ago)

SimonM7 Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (7 Hours ago)

Megido Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (8 Hours ago)

SimonM7 Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (10 Hours ago)
