The gameplay vid looked awesome, and definitely showed the (subtle) improvements. This however...looking at the Gridlock screens, Gears2 looks worse than Gears1.

Surely that isn't the case, but it makes you wonder who the hell's responsible for Gears's PR?!

Going by the gameplay screens with jaggies, it doesn't really look better than Gears 1. Maybe it's a different case when we actually play the game, who knows, but I'm not exactly impressed at the moment.

Any one who slates the lack of improvement in the graphics is pretty stupid. Seeing how great Gears 1 looked, what were you expecting? Unless they were to completely scrap the engine and start a new one, this is as improved as they could get.

It looks incredible in my opinion; as good as anything you will see on either current gen console.

Graphically, it doesn't look like much of an improvement, but the areas are a lot larger, more detailed and more complex.

nah, for a big budget exclusive big seller, i expected at least some sort of improvement visually. i mean. halo 2 managed to look a damn sight better then halo 1 on the original xbox. so why not in this case. yes gears looked nice when it came out, but other games have used their engine to better effect already (bioshock) so it needed to do something to make itself top dog again...and it hasnt. it looks the same. (not counting the bullshots)

Gears 1 looks decent right now, not exactly as amazing as it did a couple years ago, and the pre-baked environmental shadows are plenty obvious. Playing it today doesn't impess me at all with games like Uncharted out. I'd say it's pretty stupid to not expect any kind of decent graphical advancement after 2 years when they could optimize the engine to perform better on the 360. People at least expect it to look as nice as the doctored screens, but it doesn't. Like I said before, maybe it's a different case when we actually play it.

I never finnished the first one so I probably will not buy this one. Dunno why, but just couldn't get into it, something about it I didn't find emmersive, maybe all the hype as I feel the same about Halo games.

I think they're just going for volume.

Bigger fights (in terms of enemy size), more enemies on screen, larger environments, etc.

Gears of War 1 looked good and the places felt different enough, but it was always small squad versus small squad combat in pretty small areas.

Releax people, maybe the mp was not as much improved graphical as th sp.

The two sp shots can't be real for sure, but what if maybe the only thing they added is the AA, then this is still going to look insane.
