Page 1 2 >>Combat looks abit weak, but then again that has never been Silent Hills strongest point.
hot, zombie, nurses!
Nothing else necessary to create a good game...
I like teh atmosphere.
I know the all series is somehow inspired from that movie(some things at least) but c'mon, this is a total rip off XD
Anyway the "American Horror Through Japanese Eyes" is now become "American Horror Through American Eyes".
meh :/
(And i'm a silent Hill "fanboy" XD)
Different games but in comparison, RE5 (technically at least) looks to be several generations ahead.
I hope.
It looked quite crap at start but after seeing it in motion I'm quite sold, it feels very much like silent hill :)
Not exactly sure what 'touches' this miss, it feels way more Silent Hill then the 4th game did, also the only silent hill I never bothrered to play true.
True that it has an akward pacing & hub system, but the strong silent hill story-driven play, its still there.
it's kinda the Metroid: Hunters to the Metroid Primes. But in a better way.
Combat seems fine to me
The initial hospital scene is very reminiscent of Hostel/Jacobs Ladder and the environmental transformation is well done but apart from that there is nothing eye catching. Horrible, fidgety combat and how utterly tedious did the graveyard based scene look?

its lost that subdued feeling. and that sense of mystery...silent hill 1/2 had this. you felt lost, and weak and was eased into the experience, glimpses of monsters through the fog, but not knowing what was really going on. this seems to lack that feeling. its almost as if its revealing too much too fast. where silent hill used to be "the ring" to resident evils "dawn of the dead". this is more like the hills have eyes.
But who knows, I'll definitely give this a rent at the very least.
The game definitely looks good quality-wise, but I'm just not all that excited for this. I like how they tried something really different with The Room, if only they executed it better. For some reason I feel like that installment of SH hurt Konami and they're not really that interested in pursuing the franchise all that much anymore. I mean for one thing it's now outsourced, and not only that, they are more or less going back to their old formula. While that's not necessarily bad, it just makes the game feel uninspired.

in SH2, it all felt right...in this it feels like its being hobbled together with no real thought.

And i have to say, it's too much "doomlike" or "Condemnedlike" with that doctor being killed and all that "realtime" scary moments...
I mean, it does seems less Lynch and more Eli Roth, to me...
I hope i'm wrong.
