erm ... it looks good. But this game has to be enjoyed in motion. The production value of this game is pretty much epic. But somehow I feel like they are going to screw up the gameplay aspect ... I sure hope not.

And for the douchebag who said the lighting was static.... wtf???? It has the best lighting system implemented in a game (on a console at the very least). ever! Everything is dynamic and it's all adjustable on the fly. It has post-processing filters to make it look even better and yes it's HDR. Hell, even motorstorm was HDR and that was a launch game. xbox360 (which is a dx9 platform) can't even do HDR.
lol...oh dear.

I dont think anybody can denie that this game looks good in motion. I'd just like to see a different backdrop for a change. Hopefully they'll show some variety in it during E3.

There weren't different environments in the first Killzone at all, nope, at one.

360 fanboys exaggeration much?

Anyway look fine to me. Then again I'm not a graphic whore like most people here.
If youre not a graphic whore, then you can happily skip this.
There are far better fps out there which look far worse...

...oh and no Im not refering to Halo. KZ looks even better than CoD.

Wow some of you fanatics are straight up shameful to even call yourselves gamers. I like the constant downplaying of the game. NONE of you have even played it. Yet there's this broken telephone business of people making up opinions based on nothing. "Generic" How about reserving that until game play. Funny how most of you deny the massive amounts of positive previews for Killzone 2. Oh and how many of you have actually played Killzone Liberation? If not...you haveno reason to fall back on talking about the first Killzone game.

Anyhow, these screens are looking good. Gotta use some as my background.

Agreed, people are so concerned by what they think and how they want to influence others opinions its kind of sad, doesn't go for just this game though.

I'm pretty impressed with Killzone 2 especially visually. Gametrailers posted a comparison video a while back of the E3 trailer next to actual Killzone 2 footage, and aside from the animations looking a little worse than the E3 trailer it was pretty obvious that graphicly and technicly they have surpassed it. It's the best looking FPS i've yet seen on a console, especially with the lighting effects. Hopefully the gameplay is up to par but it looks fine already so i don't see much to complain about.

Got to disagree with your preview statment, as i understand it previews are mostly always positive, hell even Haze got positive previews and we all no what happened there, and if you read the latest 1up preview of kz2 they are quite negative on the gameplay aspect, but i'm still lokking forward to this game so i hope it all turns out well.

Ok, it looks great, but they haven't surpassed the trailer, they haven't even matched it.

Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing and from watching the gameplay videos on here a while back, I'd have to say it looks like one of the most if not THE most impressive looking FPS on a console. Sadly it's not quite as good as the trailer, but we won't be seeing games that match that trailer for a couple of years. May even have to wait till next gen.

I don't get why people this shot is bad. Come on, I'm a 360 owner and it's obvious the shot looks fine.

There's no doubt that after seeing the game in motion - just completely ignore this screenshot - the game will be a treat for the eyes.

Unfortunately, I think that's all it'll be. The AI looked awful in the video footage we've seen, and overall the gameplay looked incredibly boring. Looks like this will be pretty to look at, rubbish to play.

Yes it can. Actually the Xbox 360 uses a custom version of DirectX that is a mix between 9 and 10.

In my opinion it's hard to be overly critical of the graphics when it's still 8-9 months away from launch, also it gives them plenty of test days to work on gameplay.
what I like from the pick is that there's a serious number of polygons in each helmet /facemask combo, also it seems that the bullet actually comes out of the gun, as if it's fully working. looks like there is no AA problems, and for a game quite a distance away and still "early" in the graphics department it shaping up to be a visual treat, especially after finding out how much of the graphics are running from the cell and not the GPU.

But as whith any game it has to play right before anything else, and that's were it has to shine.

lol...

PGR3 had HDR lighting - a launch game which arrived well before Motorstorm. The Xbox 360 has Shader Model support which is above 3.0, but not quite the 4.0 model required to be DX10 compliant. The PS3 on the other hand, only supports Shader Model 3.0. Both consoles can do HDR lighting, and it's certainly not a DX10 exclusive feature.

The lighting from the previous videos of Killzone 2 looked extremely 'baked-in' to me. Don't get me wrong, baked-in lighting can be very effective, but to say the console has the best lighting system implemented in a console game ever is extremely ignorant. Far Cry 2 looks leaps above KZ2 with regards to a dynamic lighting cycle.

It's not a gameplay picture, rather an in-engine render. AA can not be judged from such shots. As well as that, it's quite rare that a games graphics improve over the press released images these days. It usually heads in the other direction, as they continue to optimize the game to run smoothly at all times.

Oh come on. Why can't one say that the screen looks like shit.

I've seen the game in motion and it looks mindblowing.
And other shots of this game also looked amazing.

BUT on this single screen, the HDR is barely noticeable, and the textures don't look good. So stop calling peolpe fanboys who say that this unluckyly chosen pic they are commenting on seems to be a pile of crap.

Anyone who judges KZ's gfx only because of that shot is a dork anyway....

The animations aren't better than CoD4 and lighting ist far behind other current games. They even don't use HDRR and the lighting system is completly static.
I think current games like Bad Company are technical much more advanced like Killzone 2.
Don't compare Killzone 2 to BF:BC.. Killzone physics are almost unexistent. The only thing you have seen was a building colapsing that it was pre rendered.

@ above

agreed. physics in BF:BC are poor.
buildings don't even collapse. You can only blast specific parts of walls away...
technically NOT very impressive...

BTW I want a fps using euphoria^^

That's not what he said...

And, blasting away specific parts of walls is still better than any other console game has managed to do.

Euphoria is not a physics engine either, it's a dynamic animation engine working in collaboration with a games current physics to produce life-like animations on the fly.
