As usual, the bonus video of Gears of War 2 included with the 360 version of Unreal Tournament 3 has been leaked early, and you can now download it here with a not great but still watchable quality.
Update: 720p version up!
Update 2: Video deleted at Midway's request.
Loakum Ugh….scratch that previous comment. The upcoming Game of Thrones video game is a F’in mobile phone game. Why can’t they came an open world GoT game, like Witcher 3 or God of War? (> 3 Months ago)
Loakum By FAR, the upcoming Game of Thrones King’s Road was the Game of the Show! It plays like God of War Ragnarok! :) (> 3 Months ago)

Commented on 2008-06-30 21:03:31I mean, what other game are you gonna compare the characters' looks to? UT3? That would be your only example nowadays.

Commented on 2008-06-30 22:34:34 In reply to HDTranI dig the proportions the characters have, and the body armour looks awesome. Also, the Locust designs are downright sweet; they're simple but still unique.
The large characters look great on screen and really help sell the weight they're supposed to possess(except when actually dead unfortunately). This helps the combat and movement feel so much more visceral.
Commented on 2008-07-01 03:56:00 In reply to RonsauceNope, Gears 2. Grey, or Gray, whatever. The point was that the colors may be washed out on multiplayer.
Washed.
Out.
I didn't say anything about the single-player. Don't read too much into it or you'll jump to conclusions.
Too.
Late.
MGS... yeah, sure; that was grey. MGS4, no... wait; The first stage would be grey, if it wasn't brown. It's a realistic brown in the Middle East, so it works.
Resistance? Which part? Some of it was grey, yeah; But Most of it wasn't. Even if you want to call it grey that's fine, as it still wasn't all muted and washed-out like that Gears2 clip. Grey isn't an analogy; I mean literally grey and washed-out.
Killzone? Not really; they showed a variety of environments. Are you talking about Killzone 2? So far, they are in cities made of mostly metal and concrete, so yeah; grey is expected, as concrete and metal tends to be a little...grey. Despite that revelation, if Killzone 2 will have the variety of levels the first Killzone had, you'll have a wide color palette. Grey isn't bad in Killzone or Gears, but the overall TONE shouldn't be grey like that Gears 2 clip, understand?
Let me say it like this: If the level looks like it had grey, washed-out primer, then that's a grey, washed-out look. Grey (read, concrete) is fine if it's a look it should have, but the wood should look like an organic-looking wood, the tires should have a black, matte look to them; not a shiny metallic. I don't expect neon for everything, that's stupid; but I expect realistic look to the textures, including color.
Look @ :51 into into the clip: see how that tire has the same Muted look as the car? That sucks! They're two different surfaces in reality entirely, therefore, for the lighting available, the light reflection and vibrancy should differ regardless of the proximity.
Look @ :55; come the freak on! That tire looks like a new gussied-up tire in the middle of a WARZONE! They just threw the same effects on every part of the car. That sucks.
@ 1:15, Bam. Is that smog? That's justifiable in my book; if not, then why the sepia tone eye-orgy?
@ 1:36. the road (I'm guessing) doesn't pop-out like it would've in the first gears.
@ 2:00, my car iz yellow, my building iz yellow, but it's a very mellow yellow, hah, hah, fellow.
I'm not going on. I'm not saying the game will suck. NO. Gears 2 looks like GOTY material, I'm just saying Gears 2 looks Grey compared to the first one.
The first one looked colourful enough to me, and this one looks to improve on that.
It could be the way it was taped, but since Epic taped the gameplay, I can't blame it on anyone but them... : /
