Wow, some of those screens have some pretty cool scale with fantasy visuals in the sky.
Lost Odyssey is my first JRPG and I like it quite alot (except the random battles) so I am looking forward to pretty much all future JRPGs now, 2 of them is definitely FF XIII and Versus for PS3.

I am looking into The Last Remnant a bit, so lets see how this turns out.

Isn't this produced by guys who are/were working on Final Fantasy?

It's the modeling and sharp texturing which make this look so good. Also those in-game cutscenes are hot. And those skies make me drool O.O

Nah I think IU looks better than this, visually this game looks like a FF12.5 rip off if you ask me, only thing its missing are moogles and chocobos.

Still looks good though and the battle engine sounds quite interesting.

Will be interesting too see how this runs seeing as its using the UE3 and all.

wat is IU?

and yeah this looks too much like FF12. I would be happy if they made it look like ANY other Final Fantasy game than 12, i hated that one because of the whole Star Wars theme it had going on with the level designs and how the ppl looked.

When I see people saying my first jRPG, please clarify: ever or on the Next-Gen?
So I can exclude your opinions on the subject all together or not.

Really? IU looks seriously outdated to me, looks like a PS2 game in High Resolution with extremely flat looking textures like most JRPGs these days. LR looks much richer in texture quality and scale, its the probably the first JRPG i've seen to actually use some bump mapping and good HDR Lighting.

Heh thats how I feel about this game, hence the FF12.5 remark, I'm still liking it though.

Blue Dragon has the best lighting I have seen in a JRPG hands down, infact I think BD is probably the best looking JRPG this gen so far.

This was taken from an interview in Famitsu, for those who don't know about the battle system.
During battle, up to five characters will form one union. The development team has not decided how many unions will be able to take part in battle yet. Director Takai suggested five unions with five characters each might be too much, though. A key feature of these unions is that the stats of the individual members are added up. Therefore, one union has only one HP gauge. In battle, the player first has to select the enemy union he wants to engage and then select a command he wants his union to perform. A union for instance can be ordered to attack an enemy mainly with physical attacks or focus on long-range fighting. After the command has been entered, the members of the union will execute the selected action. Friends and foes will trade attacks, before the player will be prompted to enter another command in preparation of the next turn.

I think it looks pretty bad. To me the characters are bland, the environments are empty and boxy. There just nothing here that catches my eye at all. I can hardly tell that this is for 360/ps3.

I guess i'll just have to hope for it being fun to play.

These screens are a bit small but promising. The water and especially the sky look gorgeous. I wonder if it looks that good live in the game as well and how it is performing. The character design is nice, the cloth and tech design is solid and it gives a nice feeling of a medieval world. The first music theme from the homepage sound good to me too.
As I prefer turn based battle systems I’m really looking forward to this game. I hope we get some HD gameplay movies soon.
Thus far the character I’m interested the most is Emma Honeywell.

Edit: Oh and no fugly kindergarten kids as far as I can see!

I gave KOTOR like 2 tries, both of them, that is not my type, atleast not then.
Maybe KOTOR 3 may changce that :P

But i think LO is pretty cool, but that random battle has been pissing me off like there is nothing else to it :(

But other than that, the game is pretty cool.

FFXIII and Versus is more my style, in terms of art design, I am just hoping these companies is going to abandon the random battle because it's VERY annoying.

But about this game, I don't know, some of the character deisng is cool, I really like the main characters design, his outfit is very good, so are 2-3 others with the same style.

The music to one of the trailers that seems to be like a main theme cue is very cool too.

I will look into it, hopefulyl a demo will be uploaded.

But like I said, after Lost Odyssey I am willing to look into in alot of JRPGs.

I personally think Square is joking with Microsoft. This and IU both look so generic. What happened to games like Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve? We need THOSE kinds of RPGs. But hey I'll give this a rental at least
