Bethesda releases three new images of Fallout 3 - including one showcasing Megaton's pub - and takes the time to answer a shitload of questions in a very interesting fan Q&A, available here.

Looks superb, and a serious contender for GOTY.

In the first pic, from the way he's staring, I think the main character is getting lucky ;).

I've never played a Fallout game before, Is it like Oblivion but in the future?

We can hope not.

Yep.
Bethesda would like us to think that this isn't the case, and I would like to believe them.

Fallout is like Fallout, is unique, effective and you are free to do whatever you want and whenever you want.

Regardless of whether this is a case of Oblivion-with-guns, or actually a faithful adaptation of the original Fallouts' gameplay, the game is looking excellent.

I'm looking forward to this game a lot. I love fallout, and I just really hope Bethesda doesn't make this Oblivion with a different skin. The second pic kind of makes me worry though. All those skills are the same as Oblivion skills, some just have a different name. We'll see at e3 though, hopefully

Absolutely no offense to Gamersyde, but it did seem a tad unprofessional using "shitload" in the description. Reading it on the front page of the site made me double take a little bit. :)

I loved the previous Fallout games, so i am waiting for that one :)

If all the trees are the same, that means instanciated geometry and that allows to have more detailed geometry for the rest so i don't really care :P

Game looks awesome, however that FAQ could of easily been summed up with "It plays identical to Oblivion" for each question.

Because it's not Oblivion, and it's not a new IP either. Some of us have actually played Fallout before and we don't want TES with mutants and guns. I love The Elder Scrolls, but I expect something entirely different. A big and open explorable world, sure, but when it comes to combat, customization, storytelling, etc.. I expect it to be something else entirely.

TES V can be like Oblivion.

IRAIPT0IR Agreed,in this one I wanted more with each mission and all were different unlike AC that I was bored in the first hour :O (1 Hour ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah it's brilliant. I wouldn't say it's nothing like AC1, but AC1 just seems like a bizarrely long, super early demo of 2. (1 Hour ago)

IRAIPT0IR No,the feeling not the taste XD....I played AC2 yesterday and it was awesome indeed, its hard to believe that the same team made AC1 its nothing like it. (1 Hour ago)
