PS3

Snoopers finally managed to upload the first gameplay video (thanks for the horrible connection, E3 people) of Killzone 2 from the E3 Showfloor. Another will follow a bit later, and longer and very high quality videos will be encoded in the next few days.

looks great.. they've done alot of nice tricks with the lighting and blur effects, as the textures are actually pretty bland.

AI still needs work though.. and it would be nice to see a different setting, the whole game cant be based around that one level surely?
they've shown 2 levels so far, and while i'd like to see more, at the same time i dont. it'd get to a point where there would be no point playing the game since they've shown it all before. apparently there is more "natural" environments in there too, much like the first game. but i found those the worst back then personally. i much prefare urban combat when it comes to FPS's

Looking really good in gameplay--AI being the only glaring weakness thus far. Graphics are pretty damn awesome.

GG confirmed there will be some Helghan Countryside levels. They basically want to give you an overview of the planet.

But they don't want to spoil it.

To be honest the textures look really tight to me, on this video certainly.

HOW DARE YOU THINK THAT? GENIUS IT WAS!
I did that a number of times in CoD4 and got triple kills.

The multiplayer video is fantastic. Too bad no one really shot at you excluding the last enemy you encountered.

man, that was some intense stuff right there. reminds me a lot of cod4. only far more stylish
Yeah I get that COD4 sci-fi feeling here, and the online seems to be very fleshed out and the gameplay seem to be very polished.

From all the live demos and footages I seen, the gameplay seems to be very polished in terms of aiming and shooting...etc. from the first one.

The only FPS I am looking forward to.

Just looks absolutely amazing, and being honest, Killzone 2 and God of War 3 was the main reasons why I bought a PS3 and it seems that its gonna pay off for owning one for these two titles.

I hope they announce that the beta is coming out very soon!
I played COD4 for hours and hours until I couldn't invest into XBL any longer so I had to abandon the title, but this is PS3 being free and all, this might be the addicting FPS for me, and from what I seen, it seems to be the case.

Yeah, i also thought the same thing. At least, it seems that the dot is moving a little when he moves the weapon. In CoD4 campaign mode, the EoTech was just a RedDot although they've claimed to have a millitary consultant

Graphics aren't amazing. It looks good, but by no means amazing. Static lighting, no HDRR, horrible textures, no destructable environment, bad fire effects and much more. Sure, it provides good looking content, but most people always confuse tech with content.

I would say even a current game like Bad Company provides better tech (beautiful HDRR, dynamic lighting/shadowing everywhere, dynamic daytime changing, destructible environment, big levels, impressive smoking effects and really good textures) than Killzone 2.

The EOtech scope is my favorite scope so far in modern weapons on assault rifles, and COD4 had it in SP but not in MP which was VERY dissapointing.

Good thing Killzone 2 has it as default on the ISA assault rifle, very nice, and the gun model all together looks fantastic.

wow, thats just the most rediculous post i've ever read...hahahaha

static lighting? dude, even the muzzle flash gives off shadows of EVERYTHING in the environment. something that is RARELY seen in games in general, never mind bad company. no destructable environments? again, WTF. have you watched any of the video's...lol.

most missinformed post goes to milhouse.

Lol Just there are some lensflare effects and bloom effects is no indicator of having the best lighting. Indeed, the lighting is really average compared to other games. They've just hide these facts with bloom effects and lensflare effects, but this is nothing spectacular.

It has no HDRR and static lighting (and this is a fact stated by KZ2' developers), these are the facts!!! And nobody is talking about character shadows. Just look at Bad Company, it has _dynamic_ daytime changing, every single moving blade of grass has _dynamic_ shadows, just everything. How can you ignore these facts? I've got the feeling some people never played the game.

Ok Milhouse whatever, this game to me looks better than most FPS I have seen (the lighting is great), that's all I care about, you can whine on as much as you like, but it doesn't change the fact of what I think. (or what other people think for that matter)

The point in making all that tech is so that the game looks realistic, it's not so that you can go "OMG THE TECH LOLOLOL OMG TECH SPLURGE". Are you seriously shunning this game because it doesn't have dynamic daytime changing?

The game looks amazing WITHOUT all that dynamic bullshit. So who cares? Also, the graphics aren't even the most important thing, the gameplay is. I fail to see how blades of grass having their own shadows is going to increase the quality of the gameplay, but I guess that's just my opinion.
