Microsoft press release:
Begin the Epic Journey! Critically-Acclaimed Xbox 360 Exclusive “Fable II” Arrives at UK Retailers on Oct. 24
“Fable II” Pub Games get release date and Limited Collector’s Edition contents are revealed
Today, Microsoft Game Studios and Lionhead Studios announced that the highly anticipated action role-playing game “Fable® II” will ship to U.S. retailers on Oct. 21, 2008 and UK retailers on Oct. 24, with subsequent release dates throughout the rest of the world in the coming months. Combining thrilling action, heart-wrenching emotional experiences and a genre-bending Xbox LIVE multiplayer mode, “Fable II” is the must-have blockbuster for 2008.
Developed by Peter Molyneux and Lionhead Studios, the creators of the critically-acclaimed “Fable” and “Black & White,” “Fable II” offers an infinite amount of choice in an open world environment, allowing gamers to become the most heralded of all heroes or reviled of all villains. Ringing in new heights of innovation for the genre and expanding upon the rich experience of the first title, “Fable II” immerses players in the expansive world of Albion.
“Fable II” pioneers a new combat system designed to allow players to truly master hand weapons, ranged combat weapons and magic, each using a different single button on the Xbox 360 controller, making the game approachable and accessible to both casual and hardcore gamers. Players will live out personal and emotional experiences like never before, whether playing solo or co-op together with a friend or over Xbox LIVE, with their constant dog companion by their side.
Fans eager for a head start will have the opportunity to test their luck in the Xbox LIVE Arcade title developed exclusively for “Fable II,” available on Aug. 13; those who pre-order a copy of “Fable II” at participating retailers will be given free access to download the “Fable II” Pub Games, or they can be downloaded without pre-order via Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft points. The high-stakes casino-style pub games, titled “Fortune’s Tower,” “Keystone” and “Spinnerbox” will offer players the opportunity to start earning a bounty of gold and treasures to fund their adventures in “Fable II,” ahead of the title’s release on Oct. 24.
In addition to the standard retail version, “Fable II” will be offered in a Limited Collector’s Edition through participating retailers and will feature:
• Bonus DVD – Includes new ‘Making-of Feature’ with Peter Molyneux and the team at Lionhead Studios and concept art viewer
• Bonus In-Game Content (Requires LIVE account) – Includes “The Hall of the Dead” Dungeon, “The Wreckager” Legendary Cutlass Weapon and Otherworldly Bonus
• Collectible Hobbe figure with accessories – From the Qee Collection comes this one-of-a-kind Hobbe figure. Nasty, brutish, and short, he roams the countryside, preying on travelers and spiriting away the children of the unwary.
• 48-hour Xbox LIVE Gold Trial Card – With Xbox LIVE Gold, players can show off their individual hero by inviting friends into their unique version of Albion or they can visit their friends’ Albion, and earn additional gold, experience and renown to take back into their own.
• Five printed Fate Cards – These five beautiful cards foretell the Hero’s great destiny to journey across all of Albion, encountering deadly enemies and enigmatic allies. The path leads to a choice that will change the world forever.

Cheers Chief, its a shame they didnt just put that in the press release too.
GAME and GameStation, grim, the money goes to the same company either way.
Posted by KORNdog finally a game to offer more GAME content in their special edition. might pick it up. i dunno, depends how much extra it is.
Only £5 more in the UK, so it's definitely worth the price.
The extra content looks very cool, particularly the Spartan armour, very amusing. The little Hobbe figure is very cute and Lionhead tend to have fairly interesting documentaries.
The fate cards have me a little worried though.. they contain spoilers?
Fable 2 is beautiful. Perhaps it doesn't have the best shaders or textures of all games, but overall it just amazing to look at. I love the unique and quirk yet really cool artstyle. It's just amazing that Lionhead can put some crazy shit like this MC armor etc, while devs like Silicon Knights fail badly when they attempt some quirk things. I guess some devs just have that magic touch.
I am trying not too hype myself too much, but after E3 it's my most anticipated game this year. Hopefully it'll deliver.

That's the weird part. I think it has some of the best textures and shaders, but it doesn't show up well in screens, for whatever reason.
Whats so special about that game?
The only thing that makes it different from an sub-average rpg is this whole good-or-bad-thing.
But if you ask me, its utterly samey if you choose the good or the bad side...
The only thing that changes is your outer appearance and the way the people react when they see you.
I seriously don't give a toss how people react when meeting my charcter which if you ask me looked crappy (in Fable1) no matter if he was good or evil....
If the choice of good or bad won't influence the story/gameplay more than in part1, again it'll be a disappointment for me!
In a way Fable felt like a huge disappointment, but that's only because a certain mr. Molney...ux(meh, whatever) couldn't keep his goddamn mouth shut about how amazing it was going to be with all the amazing choices. I mean, if you actually listened to what he was saying it sounded like the game would allow you to marry barnyard animals and sail the seas as a pirate or whatever you could dream up. Unfortunately that's not realistic in any way and that sure as hell showed when we got the actual game. That aside, fable was a decent hack and slash adventure. Sure it might have been a bit on the easy side at times and you had virtually zero impact on the world, but if you took it for what it was it wasn't all that bad.
The same goes for this. I simply expect more of what we got in part 1 and as such i don't think i'll be disappointed.
I enjoyed fable, didnt really read into the hype or anything but it served its purpose, I think with the sequel they have nailed a lot of what had been promised and exceeded a lot of things. Really looking forward to gettin stuck into it, gonna preorder it GAME tomorrow methinks.

to anyone dissing this game (redneck)by saying its like any rpg with one acception a personal alignment feature(which by the way will effect all aspects of this game, even from the very first chioce you have ,read up to under stand)is like saying the only thing setting halo apart is master chief(whos in fable2) you cant just say the most critical part of a game is all that sets it apart from other rpgs. other things that set it apart are little(or big)things like the dog, marring, and buying anything you see what sets fable apart is the virtual blend of game types(rpg, sims life simulators, real estate tychoon, and yes even pets)so i and all people anticipating this game hope you research before you talk next time and remmember fables fans are not to be played with

Paranormal Activity was insane, totally deserves being the most profiting indie film ever made. I saw the original version, not the theatrical one. WAY BETTER! (3 Hours ago)

Nope, no such prestige I'm afraid. Just 1½ year of comic making and ICQ channel community on quakenet of all places. :) 2002 doesn't sound far back but it's soon 8 years ago. Time sure does roar past. (9 Hours ago)

Did you make comics and stuff for kong back in the day? The art looks similar :) (10 Hours ago)

Thanks :D and yeah I do. M7 was originally a webcomic, and the idea now is to make it a bit of an entertainment blog in general and a webcomic. Only done two strips so far since I rebooted it in may. (12 Hours ago)

@SimonM7: Dude That's amazing. Do u draw that stuff ?? (12 Hours ago)

I'm not really a RPG gamer, but I think I might try this one.. It looks cool, and I like the fact it has online co-op..

I agree that the good/evil aspect didn't have much bearing on much at all in the first Fable, but the game was still fun.
Too bad for you if you can't just enjoy a game.

Well I can say one thing about Fable 2: I'm not letting anybody into my world! No way are you gonna kill my wife!
