The PS3 looks less washed out than the 360 version in these shots, but it might just be a case of ramping up the contrast a bit? I'm still not convinced by the HUD yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels when you're actually playing the game.
Many people worship Japanese developers, but most developers seem to think they no longer hold the throne for game design, other than innovation; their content and gameplay is outdated, and they refused to change it. I'm happy a new team steps up to the plate.
If it loses the unique atmosphere that makes SH great, at least I'll be happy to know that I got to play a fun game for a change, rather than an interesting one that bordered on unplayable.
So there are no changes in gameplay in Japanese games? So Resident Evil 4, for example, played like previous RE games? The developers make games based on what their fanbase enjoy and, like pretty much any other developer in the world, what their tech is set up to handle.
If SH looses its atmosphere then it will loose the entire point of the game for most people.
Japanese developers and gamers have a different tradition than their western counterparts, that does not mean what you say is true though. I have to agree though that many japanese developers are lacking in the graphics department this gen.
It doesn't for some reason or another in any of these images, hence the reason it looks shit in still shots.

All PS3 shots look like Killzone 2 ... welcome to town brownzilla, godzilla!
My opinion of this game keeps switc hing between 'it's looking pretty good' and 'they're going to kill ruin it'. After this batch of shots I think its actually looking pretty good again.

is it me or the ps3 version has less AA or something like that..I see his cloth more pixelized..like in his shoulders
For the record I don't even have a PS3 and hate the things after having to work with them. That said, if you look at the last images in the 360 images and PS3 images (with the boss hanging from the roof) the contrast seems different between the two, resulting in the blacks looking darker and the colours more vibarent on the PS3 shot. However, that might result in details being lost in the background.
Oh and the munster designs are wicked.
And i hate that they have changed the camera view. The fixed cameras were great for silent hill because of the creepy angle shots. And some of the monsters look poor, but some some are good too, like that tall skinny monster and the spider thing.
But i believe in this game and i believe that it will turn out great after all, but not as great like a silent hill developed by team silent.
Japanese developers are much better than western developers. Western developers mostly make games which includes a gun in one hand and a grenade in the other, and ofcourse everything has to be in First Person View, really sick of those wargames now.
Japanese developers aren't "better", they are just different. In the case of Silent hill though, i can agree that the original team silent really did a fantastic job on the first three games, and partly on the fourth, but i don't think another japanese developer would do any better than the chums making this.
