GC08: Wheelman presentation

We were invited last week to a presentation of Wheelman at the Games Convention, with the game's executive producer Shaun Himmerick and Ian Stevens of Tigon Studios. I was very skeptical before going there since the previous videos of the game didn't seem very appealing but after the demo, and as long as they fix the obvious technical issues (especially the framerate), it looks like this game could be a lot of mindless fun. I'll let you guys judge by yourself with this first video, with more to come!

Not very impressed on the framerate and chasing gameplay ( always hitting on smarts, like they are made of plastic? ) but that cutscene in-engine(?) opening and the shots direction was stunning.

I see the car control is something like Ridge Racer 1,back in '95-'96.
Damn that...seems like an awful game.No tire marks,zero shadows in the tunnel.

The game is planned for release around February or March 2009. There still is a lot of time to correct the framerate issues and add all the little details that make a difference. Keep in mind that the version shown was an early build of the game. :)

some things i noticed about that vid, there are smart cars EVERWHERE. and while there was people in that building at the end, there isnt anyone on the streets themsevles? cant really say its a game that has me excited tbh.

Makes me cross because Vin Diesel is awesome. (Chronicle of Riddick on PC/Xbox anyone)
And this sucks. But Tigon studios and him usually make far better games.

WOW! That game is completely BROKEN!
I saw a couple of nice things, but damn, it is bad bad bad. Graphics are so all over the place, and let's not even talk about framerate. Unless they plan to put a whole lot of time and MONEY into this game, this game is going to suck ass and will sell like crap--I would hope.
