Infinite Undiscovery: Day 2

Infinite Undiscovery: Day 2

2008-09-03 08:02:18 by BlimBlim

As promised, here are three more gameplay videos of Infinite Undiscovery, showing this time some much more interesting gameplay and not just the glorified toturial of the first 90 minutes of the game. Personally I didn't expect to enjoy this game at all, being a much bigger fan of turn-based RPGs, but I've been surprised by the simple yet very complete gameplay of the game, making it seem almost like a real action title during fights, but with the actual RPG side never hiding far behind. It certainly isn't perfect, and quite a few things like the lack of voices during some cutscenes is jarring, but this game is well worth taking a long and hard look at.

Great videos you once again upload at a quality that no other gaming site can attest to. Is IU a timed exclusive because I only have a PS3, I intend to get a 360 once or if its new model comes out (like the ps2 slimline), but until then I was hoping like eternal sonata it may be announced for PS3 at a later date how likely is this, thanks for any feedback.

Infinite Undiscovery was financed in part (or more) by Microsoft. Not a chance it will ever be released on PS3.

EA is not going to send it to us, so unless a miracle occurs it's not going to happen. Sorry.

Yup i fully agree. Good game, it's atmosphere is brilliant. It reminds me somehow ff7. Not the same but close feeling.

wasnt impressed with that vid..especially not impressed with the enemy pop up.

I feel people get blinded to exclusivity. People held Haze in this trap..and like haze this game looks decidedly adverage at best.

dito. I don't see one thing about this game which would justify a purchase.

Well I also do not know much about all this permanent-changing-world-stuff.
That could be interessting, but I got too less information about it...
BTW, how can people be pleased with the visuals?
I know about the open world, but then compare it to GTA IV or FarCry2...

Does the framerate during battles bother you at all Blim?

If I wanted to dodge/parry attacks I guess it would. Since I'm more or less button mashing it's not really an issue. I guess it will when the game will become more difficult though.

From my experience you don't need to dodge or parry as long as you have a group healer in the party.

The combat doesn't really rely on you to be strategic most of the time, as blim says you can get away with just button mashing, just press Y when you need to be healed. (although AI players can be a bit dumb and unresponsive at times :S)

I thought Microsoft owns the Infinite Undiscovery IP.

Man, I never knew the first "10" minutes of the game were so long and could be divided into eight parts.
