no, they're in-game. the special movies just use a pre-canned animation (obviously, how else could you do it). they're definately not CG, or pre-rendered. play the demo and you'll see for yourself

impressive visuals, but i've said it before and i'll say it again, the english voice overs suck balls. i'm not against english voices in anime (studio ghibli for example have pretty decent dubs) but the naruto dubs really do blow.

This is pure awesomness, the best anime fighting game for sure, at least in terms of visuals.

CGs?? D, somebody is wrong here . Special move videos are all real time cut scenes (could say in-game too), and I don´t need to play the demo to notice about that. It´s something obvious. The english voices are HORRIBLE.
BTW, the game looks great and the animations stunning, very smooth and well done. What a pity I only have Xbox360...

Yes, I hate the dub as well, but Namco Bandai is super cool about it in their Naruto games. Ultimate Ninja 3 included both languages for voices and even the demo of this very game has the option right on the menu. They understand how diametrically split subbers and dubbers are, which is really cool of them.

Anyway, someone asked if this was just fighting and someone else answered yes. Well, that's not true. Poke around the net for some preview articles and you'll see they've fully rendered Konoha Village and you can run around taking on missions and finding secrets. The crux of the game is definitely the fighting, but there's more to it than that. I'd say check out Ultimate Ninja 3 for the PS2 (which came out in March) for basically what this game will probably end up mostly like.

Can you tell I'm excited? If you've played the demo, you understand how fluid and fun it is to mess around with. The game is a Naruto fan's wet dream.

This game might make me pick up a PS3. It looks very close to the anime, and has easily one of the best game engines i've seen in a long time.
