Page 1 2 >>12-24 hrs gameplay seems pretty long for a prince of persia game, i really hope the story is immersive enough, and not boring and uninteresting. i know, i know, it's all about the platforming, jumping from ledge to ledge, and combat, but i'd hate for it to be another mirror's edge storywise.
the visuals are definitely quite unique, and i can't wait to see all the different environments and characters.(please use enough AA on the console versions) the tech seems to be in place from what he described.
I really cant wait for this!!!!
Nothing new? Did you see the interview? ... I think the game looks great and have a nice design. Thanks to Ben, I believe the game will do very well.
No gameovers?
There aren't any real game-overs, but you will still have to restart a section, which is the same as game-over to me. And it's not new. Heavy Rain will also have no game-overs (but they promise this as part of the story, being that whatever you decide to do, it will always keep going, even if it was a bad decission). I'm not trashing the game as bad, I just wish it had that something fresh beside the art design. I'm sure it will be great for the fans.
been said a million times by a million people, but the voices suck balls.
Looks good but i will be cautious with this game. I loved the Sands of Time trilogy but this...i don't like the whole "open world-exploring-collecting" crap. I freaking HATE games that force you to scurry around trying to find that last banana or lightseed or whatever before you get to proceed.
yeah, i agree. i like collectibles being there. just as a distraction if you grow bored of progressing with the story, but imagine if you had to kill a set amount of pigeons in GTA4 before you could do a mission. it'd be horrible. i think its the reason im not enjoying saints row 2 all that much, the fact im forced to do these shallow side missions before i can do the main missions gets annoying.
you can progress pretty smoothly with limited backtracking, however Elikas move list and power are directly linked to the difficulty of the game therefore only collecting the least amount of orbs will probably provide a slightly more challenging experience, whilst those wanting to feel like a god will collect endlessly and unlock all her abilities (slight exageration on the god comparison but it still stands that you'll be badass).
So we'll have to wait and see I guess
To be honest, I too despise this whole Orb business but I seriously doubt it's game breaking so we shouldnt worry hopefully.
To me, the 460 orbs that are not necessary is just a way to add some fun for those who are in to acrobatics and secrets. I may be mistaken but other than achievements, I don't think you'll get more rewards from getting the remaining 460 orbs.
alimo: what he said was that you need 540 orbs to unlock all powers, the others were just for achievements.
I'm not sure it'll unlock more powers. If I understood correctly there are something like 4 (or 5?) different powers that Elika can buy.

Who's to say they're not going to be of use in the downloadable content Ben was talking about.
So...the prince has all the combat abilities from the get go and you only upgrade Elikas abilities?
I am so 50/50 on this game.
Please game...dont suck, dont be short and repetive.

^^Welcome to my world.
I mean seriously.
You wont unlock any new weapons or new moves for the prince from the beginning to the end.
All you do is platforming and facing one enemy at a time, which by the way have the same combat attacks all the time...unless they havent shown the great stuff.
The voice acting is not doing it for me, especially when I just played Uncharted and heard Nathan Drakes voice...its gonna be annoying.
The only thing that carries the game is its artstyle and probably the story.
There is definitely gonna be alot of platforming stuff, which I dont mind so much, but from a gameplay view once you collect all the seeds/orbs know the story there isnt much going back to...unless you are a trophy/achievement junky.
The combat isnt exactly something that is good in this game or different unless you like to see the same attacks over and over again.
I will probably buy it, play it and see how much satistfaction I had and to see if there is anything in the game that will make me go back, if not...I am returning it.
