The First 10 Minutes: Shaun White Snowboarding

The First 10 Minutes: Shaun White Snowboarding

Ubisoft quickly finished off the development for Shaun White Snowboarding and released it a couple of days ago on all major platforms, and here is the first 10 minutes from it. It's a fairly decent game, but I'm having trouble enjoying the controls and the framerate, which seems to be a bit low most of the time. The controls makes it unneccesarily difficult to hit small collectible objects, but it's easy to respawn and re-do it.
I'm a snowboarding fan so I'll probably keep playing it this winter, the game is pretty enjoyable overall and there really isn't many other options in the genre this generation.

Yeah, but there was some gameplay videos of that a month or so back and it looked *really* unpolished.

LOL, the dialogue and voice acting is so stupidly funny, and weirdly compelling that I want to see more. Didn't expect some racist jokes at Japanese and European heights :P

It looks a little boring. I want SSX from EA Big to X360 or PS3 :(

Controls issues and low framerate? Why Ubisoft? No buy for me then:-( I'll stick with my good old Amped 2 again, which is IMO still the best snb game ever.

Amped 2 is pretty decent. I also liked Sega Extreme sports on the Dreamcast; that had a cool snowboarding section (though the shapeshifting terrain was a bit disconcerting..) 1080 of course being the daddy!

Sounds like they rushed this one out as a seasonal special (snow and summer don't really correllate I guess, unless you live in the mountains)

I must agree Amped 2 is the best snowboarding game, but the one thing that made it so great for me was how fun the online was. It was an unbeatable experience and after the years is pretty much non-existent so after all of this time waiting for a true sequel I will try this on for size (once I read some reviews). It seems promising and I hear online is really good so maybe this can pick up where that left off for me.

The framerate looks absoloutely terrible. Down into single digits at some points.

Stoked will be announced soon for Europe. There's a dev answering questions in the stoked forum on xbox.com. they are based in Austria and it obviously will be out in Europe. it won't be region free btw.

SWS is probably the weekest attempt of a snowboarding game in recent years.
