Atari will be publishing Tekken 6 in Europe, and here is a couple of brand new images of it. The release date is set to autumn 2009 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, even though these images probably are from the Arcade version.
Atari/Namco-Bandai press release:
LONDON, UK – 2 December 2008 – NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe gets working on its combos in preparation for the next instalment in the ultimate fighting franchise TEKKEN 6, scheduled for release in Europe through its distribution partnership with Infogrames Entertainment in autumn 2009 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
Developed by NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc., TEKKEN 6 brings the blockbuster fighting series onto multiple platforms for the first time in the history of the TEKKEN franchise. But at the same time Megido.... The PS3 dpad is about one heihachillion times better than being stuck with the 360 one, despite the distant promise of a half affordable stick. I tried playing Sonic 2 on the XBLA and I felt physically ill.
Simon: i totally agree that the 360 pad sucks dong, but if you REALLY play fighters i just don't see how a d-pad of any kind is really an option. For casuals though, i guess it could be important. But who cares about them anyways, they are the kind of retards that call me a cheater when i use low attacks i SC4 (yes that actually happened).
lol yah, been there. I don't play a lot of games online, but when I got VF5, my rep took a complete nosedive simply from.. winning.
And yeah I agree about stick being essential, but I just don't see anyone forking out for one when the options are as limited and costly as they are on the 360. On the PS3 you can get a ps2->ps3 thingy and use the old reliable Namco PSX stick (still going strong two generations later) whereas on the 360 you'll have to bite the bullet and import some rediculously expensive Hori business.
Simon: since you are a swede, know that you can buy a hori stick for the 360 at Megastore for like 500:- Ofc that stick probably sucks noodle but you could buy new buttons and a new stick and simply replace the old ones and then i guess you'd have a decent stick. Or just buy a custom stick. If you ask around forums i bet you can find someone willing to make you one. It'll probably cost a pretty penny though.
You'd think a game that only has two characters on screen that has been in development by a massive team for over 3 years could at least manage a tiny bit of AA.
Soul Calibur 4 has better textures, models, lighting, effects & image quality, yet this game is coming out later and is made by the same people. What is going wrong?

You do realize that Tekken 6 has been out for a WHILE in the arcades, right? Soul Calibur is not based on any arcade hardware and so it's no surprise that it looks better.

And it's not the same team making Tekken and SC.
Tekken 6 was built on PS3 hardware in arcades though. SC4 was even developed multiplatform from the start!
They need to get some of those SC people to touch up the graphics before the home console release of T6 if that is so. There's still time to improve on the arcade version.
It was build on the Namco System 357, which is based on the PS3 architecture. But at any rate its more than a year old and i understand that they won't change the graphics now. But i agree that the graphics are underwhelming, as i wrote in my first post. Especially after the graphical powerhouse Tekken 5 (any one saying that that game didn't look incredible on the ps2 has a malfunctioning brain).
Looks fine to me, its about time people starting thinking less about visuals and more about gameplay... but then i been saying that for a long time now.

Honestly, a person who's favorite genre is JRPG isn't allowed to say something like that ;)

Why? jrpgs generally suck graphically.
I don't like Tekken. Characters move too slowly and combos are too long.
It really pisses me off seeing myself flying through the air, kicked and punched by some Eddy-combo in slow-mo without beeing able to guard or counter...

Modern Warfare 2 is pure win. So many improvements, this game feels completely new. (41 minutes ago)

No. Possession and created chances are usually what dictates the result. Playing bollocks and scoring two goals from two shots all game rarely happens. (1 Hour ago)

Is this definitely coming to 360?

Oh well, it'll be a blast to play so in the end it's awesome :)
the graphics do look a bit hit and miss though.
Not that it matters, Tekken was never up to much anyway. VF5 beats it in every way.
I really want a new Dead or Alive for the 360.. anybody with any sense about them knows that beat'em ups dont come much better than that series.
I'm glad this is coming to the 360, but at the same time the d-pad sucks on the 360.
Bleached: Really? You want more depth and you think DoA has it? Sounds like a freaking paradox to me.
