Capcom didn't really surprised anyone today by announcing Dead Rising 2 for 360, PS3 and PC, but it's still quite a good news. Enjoy these first screens, along with a teaser video showing next to nothing.
Graphics certainly seem improved and i really ahd fun with the first game so yeah, i too am looking forward to hear how they changed the game. Hopefully some of the more annoying elements will be gone this time :)
i just hope its more action and less annoying, i hated the drodging through mindless zombies only to hit a boss that was insanely repetitive to kill him yet annoying because they'd always kill you in stupid ways, oh god and please a better save system!
looks lil better but these companies really need to start taking a page from KZ2's book its the little things and the post processing filters that makes games look stellar and get all the aclaim, hell im a 360fan and i admit that. i really hope we see more games start focusing on the little things like suttle body movements and heft, and nice overall filtering.
hopefully it isn't as boring after 1 playthrough...don't get me wrong, dead rising was a tech achievement and extremely enjoyable, but after I completed to main mode and the mode after, it just felt boring even the infinite mode felt boring cos to surivive for long meant playing for hours on end and staying where the food is.
I think I would of enjoyed it that much more if the food respawned and maybe only have stuff which heals you by a small amount and allow us to save and when we die erase the save.
Anyway the screens do look better than dead rising 1 so thats a start, defo do want to hear the improvements they're going to implement, I did enjoy levelling Frank up. Also I am one of the few who had no problems with the save system, perhaps could of allowed several character slots for those of us who like to start again from scratch without deleting a completed playthrough.

I never played the first one. Any good?
It had a lot of flaws that stopped a lot of people from enjoying it but i personally think it was a fun game. See plot points in the game are timed and if you accidentally save at a place where it's impossible to make it to the next "objective" on time you have to start over. Also the game is insanely hard at first, making you have to start over again and again as well (you keep your stats every time you restart making it easier and easier every time). I'd recommend a rent to see if you can get in to it :)
The original was an awesome idea poorly executed so I'm hoping they fix all the issues.
1. Add replay value to it, and I don't mean dumb achievements that don't unlock anything.
2. Get rid of all the loading screens, or make them much quicker.
3. Fix the save system.
Another Capcom game, another disaster in terms of controls and complete lack of "thoughtthroughness". The first one had it's charm, but needs some serious work!
First of all, NO MORE TEXT ONLY DIALOGUE...seriously... :|
Second of all...implement some half decent controls, it doesn't have to be a Gears clone (beat ya to it, ha!), but something above 'atrocious' atleast. Lastly, cut down on the god damn loading screens...worst game EVER in terms of loading (frequency)...
it was a good game, and while i never ran into any issues with the save system, the timed nature of the game or the difficulty, i do want a few of those issues sorted if im to buy a sequel, just as a precaution.
either let us save anywhere, or at the very least remove the timed nature and make it a bit more like GTA in the sense you can just go to a "mission" whenever you want instead of having to get there for a specific time.
you could still make it time based (a mission is only avaliable at 11-12pm) just dont make it effectively end the game if you miss it, give us a chance to reach it every "day" in the game. that way if you do miss it, you have to survive another 24 hours untill it becomes avaliable again.
I just hope they don't dumb down the gameplay too much. The only big problem with the original was the friendly AI was very dumb. The timer stuff, open non-linear structure and all of that was what made the original such a innovative and awesome title. I guess I wouldn't mind multiple save slots, and the Otis calls were just broken.
The one thing they desparetely need to add in for this sequel is some proper ragdoll physics. Putting in some reactive ragdoll similar to what Killzone 2 has would add so much to the variety and hilarity of all the mass zombie killing!! Capcom let me down in this regard for RE5 but pic #4 gives me some hope (looks like he might be ragdolling from getting hit by the motorcycle).
Oh, and fix the broken save system and add online AND offline co-op!!!!
The first game was a VERY hard game. It's literally impossible to do everything perfect in that one. However, you can 'finish' the game by never even moving. That's a part of why the game was so awesome.
The save system was by no means broken, it was hardcore. Most gamers couldn't handle it these days, they've gone soft with quicksaves, save anywhere, and many save slots.
I'm sure they're going to dumb the game down some for PC, PS3 and modern 360 players, which is a damn shame.

If they can do all that, I'm onboard.

If you can get passed that it's really enjoyable.
I hope they fix this problem in the sequel.
It made me stop playing it through for a second time.

Does anyone actually get hyped by a series of flashing images designed to show you as little as possible?
The images on the other hand are awesome. New main character looks interesting.
