MASTER! MASTER!
Man I know this game is mainly nickle and dimeing the consumer but I AM a Metallica whore, it gets me pumped up just watching this trailer.
I also heard a feature where the song plays without the drum track and you can improvise freestyle so that should be awesome (although I don't have a GH drum kit yet...I'm hoping to buy one soon).
Definite buy.
The ONLY thing that is kind of disappointing is I wish GH had more of a 'mature' feel like RockBand....It's a bit too cartoonish.....But whatever, Metallica is Metallica.

Don't get too excited about this. I have a feeling it'd suffer the same problem as the Rock Band 2 drum trainer that lets you freestyle: there's a VERY noticeable delay between hitting the drum pad and the sound registering. I've noticed this in GH:WT tour while trying to do drum fills as well. It's quite frustrating really.

Right now it's calibrated properly for playing the songs in the game though. I hit when the note crosses the line and/or when it sounds like I should. That's kind of a hassle if I have to recalibrate just to do the freestyle mode.
