GH: Metallica images and video

Activision released this new batch Guitar Hero: Metallica images, along with a video showing a few songs. Looks like they worked quite a bit more than usual on the choregraphy.

JUST CALL MY NAME AND I'LL HEAR YOU SCREAM!
MASTER! MASTER!

Man I know this game is mainly nickle and dimeing the consumer but I AM a Metallica whore, it gets me pumped up just watching this trailer.

I also heard a feature where the song plays without the drum track and you can improvise freestyle so that should be awesome (although I don't have a GH drum kit yet...I'm hoping to buy one soon).

Definite buy.
The ONLY thing that is kind of disappointing is I wish GH had more of a 'mature' feel like RockBand....It's a bit too cartoonish.....But whatever, Metallica is Metallica.

I'm tempted as well, even though i don't find any of the guitar stuff fun anymore.

Don't get too excited about this. I have a feeling it'd suffer the same problem as the Rock Band 2 drum trainer that lets you freestyle: there's a VERY noticeable delay between hitting the drum pad and the sound registering. I've noticed this in GH:WT tour while trying to do drum fills as well. It's quite frustrating really.

I noticed that when I first got Rock Band. This is simply because your game is not in sync. I used the calibration tool and now the sound is created as soon as I hit the pad. So the freestyle drum thing is actually a lot of fun.

You're most likely experiencing video processing lag on your HDTV. It's pretty common, which is why Rock Band has a calibration tool to balance things out.

Right now it's calibrated properly for playing the songs in the game though. I hit when the note crosses the line and/or when it sounds like I should. That's kind of a hassle if I have to recalibrate just to do the freestyle mode.

The reason is because of the way your sound is processed post console through your tv or home theatre system. If you plug the audio output of your console directly to some pc speakers or a sound system that has no lag then there will be no delay. The calibration can do nothing to fix this.

Just sayin'. I ran through the calibration tool and now its set up perfectly for gameplay and there is no delay with the fills etc.
