E3: Gameplay of DiRT 2

Difficult, very difficult to look away from Colin McRae: Dirt 2. As far as I'm concerned, the sequel to Codemasters' fantastic rallye game reaches my personal top 3 of this E3's most-blowing graphics, hands down. Given all the pretenders, that's really saying something. The good news is that you don't need to take my word. Just for you, we filmed the five environments of the demo, and here's a first sample: the valley. Enjoy.

Man, that looks pathetic (the gameplay). I can tell by watching that video, Codemasters has done it again, crappy gameplay to awesome graphics.

I'm with Lebato on this one. As soon as he let of the steering the car veers back to a straight position. Shame codemasters, shame...

Least they delivered on the graphics departement.

Looks very very good. The physics are okay, gameplay seems intuitive ;) Really can't wait for this!

I doubt Last Guardian was pre-rendered.. it had all the trappings of a real time video. That said, I don't think Snoopers saw it running right in front of him either.

I'm not sure about Codemasters racers', but I do want to try FUEL. Looking at the review scores though, and given the developers previous games (mostly licensed shit).. I'll be waiting for a demo if I try it at all.

The Last Guardian is a trailer but in real time, not pre-rendered.

Gameplay: seems exactly the same as Dirt 1. I can't understand they make the same mistakes again. Although Grid was arcady, it did feel much better than Dirt. So I was expecting that Dirt 2 would be even more advanced, but it looks like a step back.

Dirt is still my favourite rally racing game. I'd be pretty disappointed if they changed the physics. They weren't realistic, true, but they were fun as hell.

Snoopers, can you please give us your impression on the vehicle handling compared to the previous game? Is it better? Do the cars feel like they have more weight to them?
