Shift shines in killer trailer

Shift shines in killer trailer

So far, we had not seen a lot of EA's Need for Speed: Shift. A small teaser here, some gameplay footage from E3 there ... And that's about it. Fortunately, here comes a new trailer unveiling the concept of Driver Profile, which evolves according to your driving style. That's nice, but in the end we just do not care: what matters are the truely beautiful ingame sequences, which really are amazing.

Gorgeous graphics. Even better than Forza 3 imho. I am curious how it will play in the end.

^Booo this man, BOOOOOOOOOOO. Why cant we grade a game on it's own looks and not in terms of others >.>. The polygon count for NFS models are nothing in comparison anyways.

I approach this franchise with caution since I've been dissappointed several times before.

This trailer catched me totally off guard :) It actually looks pretty awesome.

The need for speed series was so dead to me, im glad to see them make an entry in the series thats worth looking at. Its certainly looks impressive. Some might be quick to say it looks better than Forza, but I doubt this game matches the scope of Forza, or run at 60fps

Id love to play a demo of this.

Unless GT5 has an arcade mode that is arcade. You know what i mean.

I'll be buying this, then GT5.

Oh god YES. I love leveling up.
A racing 'RPG', I'm in.

Oh and this will so not be running at 60fps. Sometimes it just looks better on 30, or even 25. Gives it a movie-like effect.

I think the only problem with this game is they probably wont have many licensed tracks. Most will be custom tracks. I also have the feeling this is a GRID-type game but we'll see when they release more gameplay.

OMG...Let me pick my jaw off the ground.
That looks incredible. It certainly looks better than Forza but will a) the actual game look like when you are playing b) will it run at a smooth framerate, ideally at 60fps and c) How will the handling and physics compare with Forza, especially considering the developers are better know for hardcore racing sims on PC.
Whatever happens, this winter is going to be AMAZING for racing fans, like me. what with Forza 3, NFS:Shift and Dirt 2 all looking great.

Leveling up in a racer? Need for Speed Undercover attempted it. We all know how that game turned out. (Hint: it sucked.)

What an incredible trailer haha.

It probably won't be able to present a real threat to Forza in the racing department along with all the features that Forza boasts, but this is definitely a surprise and could really put the NFS series back on the map.

I refuse to believe it will look like that when you are playing. No way.

Don't know what the fuss is about. Graphics look to be at the level of PGR4, car models are pretty low poly. Like many I'm extremely cautious when it comes to NFS.

I know NFS: Shift It was great ,but FORZA3 It's Look better. Ok, NFS look beautiful because it's might be variety of color ,But if you the observe between FORFA3 and NFS:Shift. You will see a difference such as lighting , model and background composite. I think NFS:Shift it's look same NFS:Pro street + GRID.

Forza is 60fps! its not a level playing field This is best compared to codemasters' grid. it looks like a big improvement for the nfs series anyhoo.though thats not saying much

I did NOT expect this from EA!!!

That trailer is just a marvel as far as editing goes. Awesome trailer that really sells the game.

As for graphics, they are not better than Forza 3, so let's end that discussion right now!

I've been playing a lot of GRID lately, and this honestly looks ALOT like it. Graphics are a bit better, but GRID was a very good looking racing game. The only problem is that GRID had the best damage system I have seen in a racing game, and this doesn't look to have much, if any.

The next game in need for speed is indeed made by criterion games. As for this really can,t say anything unless i give it a Go coz the last few games in the series were shit!

Forza is truly highly overrated.

This game eats Forza 3 graphics for breakfast. The E3 gameplay video is even sicker.

  • SimonM7
SimonM7 They never died, we just started spending tons of time investing in our hobbies to the point where we can form our own rough estimates before purchases. Most people still can't, reviews are for them. (6 minutes ago)

Tinks Actually reviews died when we all became old enough to realize everything is subjective. (25 minutes ago)
  • dingleberry
dingleberry RPG's are always going to be contentious when it comes to reviews. They aren't everyone's cup of tea. As for reviewers, credibility died a long, long time ago as soon as 10/10 scores bacame a norm. (46 minutes ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer BTW I have 3 guest passes for a PC zero gravity shooter called Shattered Horizon..if anyone here has Windows 7 or Vista (need DX10+) and wants to check the game out, post here (55 minutes ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 EDGE is well above ripping games a new one though. They don't exactly need to have emo fits to put them on the map. (1 Hour ago)
  • Megido
Megido I agree that i'd rather see honest reviews, but i don't know if 5/10 for dragon age is honest or "look at us ripping this game a new one!". (1 Hour ago)
