Trailer

The much awaited (by those who actually play football with a ball and their feet at least) Fifa 10 gets this teaser trailer. As expected the animations are great, but I wouldn't call this "gameplay footage".

Oh EA, how you love to tease. I still play FIFA 09 practically every day, so I'll certainly be counting down the days to FIFA 10.

I like 09 very much, but this teaser doesn't ameze me... In my opinion the 09's intro trailer is much more impressive.

Can't wait for this game. 360 dribbling is going to be wicked. As for the trailer, I wasn't expecting much... the embargo lifts on July 15th so this was merely a tease by EA. The game isn't even finished so I'm not going to judge by this trailer.

:)

Fifa 09 was great until the exploits started, now the whole world seems to cheat and EA look like they wont be doing anything about it.

Yeah, I've experienced quite a few cheaters online and it's bloody frustrating. But I only really play 'Manager mode' nowadays - I'm currently trying to achieve world domination with a 'galacticos' style Chelsea team. ;)

What does "360 dribbling" mean exactly?
It means awesome, basically.

Well, it actually means having complete control of your players on the pitch. Currently, you're restricted to 8 (is it?) movements; with 360 degree dribbling, you'll have full control when playing the game. It's hard to explain, but when you get the chance to play it you'll understand just how revolutionary it is for football games.

Yes, the current system only allows you to go in 8 different directions.

What does "360 dribbling" mean exactly?
360 degrees. That is to say, your player will move in exactly the direction you are pushing the analogue stick in, accurate to the degree, like any third person action game. At the moment it only works in 8 directions, up, down, left, right, and diagonals, so if you try steer your dribble it will lock you to the next 45 degree increment. With the new system you can do precise curved runs, or subtle jinks past players, rather than massively exaggerated zig-zags just to move the ball a few inches to the side.

I promised myself to wait with buying Fifa09 until I had completely finished school. Guess what: I finished school! But why would I buy 09 now with all the lovelies being implemented into 10. Bark :/ Guess I'll just have to wait another while before being able to play some footy again.

/me looks outside at the sunny weather and the 2 goals in the park...
Hmmm there's a thought.

Speaking of Madrid; I wonder where the Dutch talents will go. Shame to see Huntelaar go to a club that never had any love for him, hope (and am confident) his career will pick up somewhere else. Same with Van Der Vaart en Sneijder.

I take it you're playing it right now, then? Daft comment to make.

As for those wondering what the 360 degree control is, I can best explain it by casting your minds back to the days when you first played Mario 64. Remember that freedom the control gave with the analog stick? You'll now have such control with a player and a ball at their feet. Revolutionary for a sports sim? I think so. Just like 360 degree controls revolutionized platformers back in the day.
