Half-way between Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War, Digital Extremes's Dark Sector is going fine and let us know with these eight screeshots. Sci-Fi seems totally gone, but who knows ?
Ehm Phaethon and Shawnzee...I am the one that said there was new images of Dark Sector to Blim in the first place, so might be first yes, but I will always be on top with news hehe.
Well it doesn't even look like Gears of War what so ever. The environment is more like Reign of Fire (movie) and Hellgate London. Gears of War has a very unique art design.
The slow thing is that you can run Shawn, you don't have to walk like a turtle, just run. It is not like Condemned were you get out of adrenalin for speed.
Synce, the game is completely original. I have not seen any game that has a man with a metallic arm and big glaive and that evolves through out the game after beating big metallic bosses. You haven't even seen anything from the game, just the regular screenshots.
Stop bashing the game if you do not like it, and show some respect.
Yep. Around Fall, that is Digital Extremes said at GDC. There will be a Xbox Live demo for those with 360 and a demo for Playstation Network, before the game is released.
They are even planning on doing a Splinter Cell-ish online mutliplayer.
I think those creatures that look like human with big jaws are suppose to be 1 team and the soldiers are suppose to be the 2nd team.
The atmosphere reminds me of a mixture between RE4 and Gears and same with the gameplay with the addition of Splinter Cell. Wow this game looks exciting! I cant wait
Well I am sure this game is gonna be a sleeper hit like Dead Rising and Lost Planet, with plenty of fans for the game, and the prove will be up once the official game site has a forum up.
Obviously this game is not for everyone, and I respect it, but bashing it for things that doesn't make so much sense is ridiculous.
Actually the only thing that Dark Sector seems to be like Gears is it's color scheme or orange, red and grey. I checked out some of the screens from Gears and yeah I can see some similarity of destroyed city and some images does remind me of Dark Sector, but it has a lot of more detail stuff of unique art in Gears that Dark Sector don't.
Unless Digital Extremes suddenly comes with their sci-fi twist and mixed everything up of what everyone thought.
Everything you know about Dark Sector is probably...who knows.
Anyone remeber the trailer form this game frm a year or so ago? It ruled, this looks a it cod3 crossed with crysis. Which is no bad thing i suppose, looks promising but will miss the previos builds space setting.

You aint the only one. I send a meesage to the person who works at PSU.com that was on the behind-cosed-doors for this game on GDC...gonna see what he says about the video footage.
Jinx - That is a old footage presentation, but thx for showing it for those that haven't seen it. Although the footage does not make the game justice at all, Josh that is playing it is very bad at this game.
Splicer, I would say yes and no. The virus is growing on him, but it is very unsure if he is gonna exactly look like that. Although I think that his entire body will be metallic as them but have the same figure and behavior as he was as human as he already is, while the only place that is gonna show his true self is his face.
There is a lot of weird things going on in this game that not even I know what is going on. It is said to be a very big sci-fi twist, for all we know it could be like twisted as Assassin's Creed concept.
