A few new things on xboxyde

Xboxyde is a bit more than 300 days old now, so it was about time I changed a few things on the site. I have made a few changes on the forum (not that anyone on the english site cares about that anyway) but the biggest change is that I do not have to use bittorrent anymore. Yes thanks to the generosity of a friend I have now more than enough bandwidth :)
If you do videos of Xbox games, I can now host them for you on xboxyde. Just contact me via PM or Email and I'll put them online here.

Do you think you'll be using BitTorrent ever again? It's great news that there are no more problems with bandwidth for your site, but being able to queue up three or four files in BitTorrent to download over night on my dial-up connection will be sorely missed. If people direct-linking to your torrents was causing a strain on the server or something I can understand, but alternatives are always a good thing! :)

Well I could still use bittorrent, but it's really a pain to create the torrent file, upload it to the tracker, put the file in the torrent directory...
I know I can automate that, but I'm lazy ;)
For the moment the torrent are staying.

No worries.

Oh, I didn't realise you put torrents back online. >_< Cheers for that. If it's too much hassle, though, definitely take them back down. When I get back to having high-speed internet access I'll probably be using the direct links exclusively anyway.

What's up?

Tiz Andromeda is actually alright with its lootbox system. (1 minute ago)

Tiz @MrWhite: EA take the piss with massive franchises. FUT makes them a billion a year because people love football and football is worldwide. Star Wars is also massive. (1 minute ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @Tiz: Aye, but they've been taking the piss for ages and no one said boo about it. It's a culmination of other companies jumping on the lootbox and p2w microtransaction bandwagon thats drawn attention (4 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog if BF2 and EA and loot boxes in general have to be made example of to show that consumers aren't willing to roll over and be shafted, then so be it. (5 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @MrWhite: same for need for speed. took some flack on reiews for it, but not nearly the same amount of attention. but then again neither game got on the BBC so... (6 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite That game is far more insidiously designed for it's pay to win nonsense than BF2 is. (6 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz @MrWhite: And when exactly did it suddenly escalate to the government? A big publisher, a big franchise, trying to take the absolute piss. (6 minutes ago)
