The only thing I don't like about this game is how the devs talk about it...
They start beeing cocky imo.

Screens don't show much, I'd rather have some information about new game-modes or other improvements but graphics.

Oh and I really have to play this game with the three screen setting! :O

When you have the oportunity to make a game, then judge. They can be as cocky as itagaki if the game looks and PLAYS as good as in that video.

Che...ers.

It does come over a little bit arrogant. All the improvements: good graphics (with the graphics of FM 2, it would have been ashaming they didn't improve on that), physics (can't judge about that), cockpit view (it should have been in FM 2 already as it is in almost every race sim), and the much talked about roll-over (i couldn't care less as there is still no visual damage modelling to be seen in the video's), the rewind feature (was already in GRID). All of this is great, but saying 'like no other race game has done before' is cocky.
But it does look great ofcourse, no doubt about that.

Look at the time delay between real steering wheel and virtual. Shame!!! And devs are cocky indeed :).

No one even touched? wtf? 400 cars?

no offence, but the only replay value in a sim racing game is the CARS, and 400 cars is not that much for a next gen racing game.

i played GT4 and it had over 700 cars, and i unlocked them in 2 weeks.
and the New GT psp has 800 cars.

i know its not their fault, its is because the limitation of the DVD. but saying no one even touched that, its just stupid and arrogant.

Man some people are just plain touchy. It's the best thing Ive ever seen. So listening to them is just reafiming what Ive already witnessed. Best racing game ever made.

PS. The graphics are to amazing.

How can you judge a game and say it's the best ever when you have not played it even once, and the only thing you seem to talk about is graphics graphics graphics!

All PR say their games are the best.

so if an ignorant PR guy says his game is the best, it means his game is the best?

PS. The graphics are better then Forza 2, but they are not too amazing.

game looks great, i just want to lower you level of hype.

You get that when the camera isn't synchronized with the display. And the devs have all reason to praise their game, it will be the best racer of all time when it releases and depending on how GT5 turns out it'll at least stay as the best rounded racer on the market.

You guys are taking the 400 cars statement out of context.

If you want to bring the game down (even before you try it), try atleast to think before you write.

I cant wait! I loved the word that he used... EPIC. Thats exactly how I view this game... many want to just talk graphics but when I look at the total package of things to come, unanounced features and modes, anlong with everything they will bring over from FM2, I see the most fully packed packages for a racer ever that would make any car nut proud.

Funny thing is, I also remember the 700 plus cars in gt4. I remember the 15 iterations of one car being passed as 15 cars. I also know there are thousands of possible cars in FM, FM2 and now FM3 because of the community integration . The modding and distribution of said cars trumps anything I've done in GT. Both games are great, but being realistic, having 400 fully customizable vehicles limited only by your skill and imagination (as far as paint anyway) with realistic physics, damage, and online play sounds far better than, "we have 700 cars that you can drive into a wall at 154 mph and slide along a rail with no real consequence", or " yeah I know other licensed car games have had damage for years, but our game is so GREAT, we don't wont to offend our manufacturers with such realistic damage, cause we're so damn good at it"

I agree with the GT part, but Forza 2 also had lots of racing cars twice or even more often with a different number on it...

I am a huge Forza fan, but I don't want the devs to hype me too much, since they could not deliver what they promised in Forza2 back then.
Dont wanna be disappointed again!

Greenwalt was super cocky about the second game. Talking up the graphics engine, mentioning that they'd got Global Illumination and other amazing features in there. To then have to remove them all to keep the 60 FPS.

This isn't a Greenwalt quote, as I'm not bothered enough to search, but the community guy said..

"We're really taking full advantage of the immense graphics horsepower of the Xbox 360 to do some incredible things visually. Of course we're 60fps at 720p, as you mention, but we're also adding effects and features such as 4X anti-aliasing (no jaggies!), motion blur, high dynamic range lighting, global illumination and per-pixel car reflections updated at full frame rate," he added.

It was a great game with a fantastic frame rate, but it looked erm, not as nice as it should have done.

I dont see the big deal in bigging up your own game, your hardly going to say something bad about it.
Commented on 2009-07-03 22:11:00
no other racing game has ever scratched FM2's phys'X and gameplay
sure it has its flaws... AWD cars require heavy tuning to handle after upgrades and tune dont act as it would in real life (in some cases...some drift tunes are a good example)

but the feel of the game...the things you get by listening to sounds of car and tires...and the vibrations of the controle give me over/understeer info and very good feedback.

so you can say whatever you like (even if the GFX at FM2 sux...) FM2 is still the best racing game for consoles. and if they calim to improve on that with FM3 i tend to believe...

Hmmm, so the game has only 400 cars because the DVD has limited space, but the PSP has 800 cars because of it's amazing storage capacity? Er, ok. I am yet to see a game were the Blu Ray has demonstated any substantial benefit( mainly because of bottlenecks and the slow drive speed). Perhaps there are "only" 400 cars because no one wants 400 more cars that aren't worth racing. Really, sim racers aren't much fun until you get past the shit cars first. Thank you Turn 10 for not making me drive a prius for half the friggin' game. Come on people, the game has merit, I don't get why "gamers" have to TRY and beat down what is obviously a fantastic series...

I have, and it's everything people say it is. E3 was my chance to check it out, seeing it, and playing it run like they say it was going to run is amazing. And as for the 400 cars, they said 400 of the HOTTEST CARS... Half of GT's cars aren't hot...
