And before that Alien Trilogy on PS1. Good grief that was scary. Even then Aliens on the C64 scared the pants off me. And I didn't really understand how to play it!
i agree. bit of a predator fanboy tbh. but there hasnt been a single good predator game and i think it's becasue it's a very hard thing to capture. aliens tho, playing as them sucks, but playing against them is genuinely intense. in terms of the AVP games, the marines where by far the best to play as, even though they offered the most "traditional" gameplay. the atmosphere just made it amazing. hearing the blip of the radar and the buzz off the pulse rifle. i'm hoping this offers more of that, and i HOPE it has 2 player split screen. 4 player online co-op seems a dead cert, but split screen would be awesome.
i do hope someone makes a really good predator game tho. concrete jungle was a step in the right direction, but still pretty awful. and the predator section in AVP 1/2 and 3 where just shit and boring. but as i said, hard to capture. he's massively strong, and has a LOT of abilities that make him incredibly unbalanced as a character. makes it to easy. i'd love a really stripped down predator game tho, just predator 1 abilities and tools, plasma caster, invisibility, and that's it. maybe the throwing disc from predator 2. i can imagine the batman arkham asylum template working GREAT for a predator title.
Love predators but love aliens more.. due to they have vastly better movies, predator 1 was fantastic 2nd one was.. well it was enjoyable, but everything else... sweet fucking god.
IMO Predator are like hunters in alien forms and technology and it would be fun to play as them because how they think, hunt and what gadgets they use.
However as Aliens, if AvP is any hint, boring as hell to use, real boring. but to actually go against them is intense and frightening.
I thought AvP (the latest) captured the Predators feel perfectly, but a game ONLY based on them is pretty much a wish to all fans.
The only "Aliens" and "predators" i played was the AvP thatw as out recently, playing as Predator was the best thing about the game, and marines seconds because of that creepy (yet really annoying beep sound) knowing you are are being stalked by a vicious bastards lol
Anyways I think I speak for Raptor as well, Predators ftw lol
Is the 60 fps in-game? 'Cause it looks damn impressive to go along with the lighting.
But survival horror and guns, hmm. But this is "Aliens", not "Alien" so obviously it'll be more action-horror. I'm guessing it'll be a decently cinematic short game, that'll need to be super polished to sell well in this age.

Yeah mate, I thought that the first Predator movie was an instant classic and even though I love watching Danny Glover to bits, the sequel was toss!
It reminded me of an era when CGI and other effects just weren`t `there yet` - same goes for Alien 3 etc.

Oh it looks as though it will be. I just hope that the sections that you see in the trailer that show the marines welding up the door etc etc are actually `interactive`, rather than a simple animated cut-scene / set piece to fuel the tension.
