Am I missing something... There is no Sub-surface scattering going on.... there are no god-rays, or volumetric fog being shown. If this is for Wii I'm impressed. If this is for anything else.... there's nothing special shown here and looks last gen. :/
Edit: Wow. didn't read that it was for everything but Wii. Not sure why they are showcasing this.

because it made by Paul f*****g Cuisset. And its not a exclusive and doesn't suffer from crap sequelities like 1st partys games out there. A genuine promising thing on the horizon for fans of survival horrors that not even a trademark silent hill seems to be an inch as exciting.

If you never played Heavy Rain, I can understand why its easy to get impressed but seriously...
Nice going though I found it confusing at first as to why a tech demo but then again the game dev is trying to get the word out on this game so good for them, hopefully the final retail game proves to be well done, I am curious though by using the term "god rays" they must be using the UE3 engine right?
Also @nostradamus the "crap sequelities like 1st partys games"??? dude if a game sells alot the customers expect, whether you like it or not more sequels, I am sure if Amy sold lots that people will expect sequels too.
And also dude mentioning Silent hill?? come on now, ever since Silent Hill was turned multiplatform and outsourced to some American game dev, the games have gone to crap because they decided to make characters that easily find lots of ammo and in effect, without the original creative team, its become an action game.

without the original creative team
“Let me start by pointing out something which a lot of fans haven’t grasped yet: there was no homogenous ‘Team Silent’ that worked on all the Silent Hills,” says producer Devin Shatsky.

In fact, the original creator and director of the first Silent Hill game, Keiichiro Toyoma, never worked on any subsequent titles in the series, instead moving on to Siren. The reality is, there were only three people that actually worked across all of Silent Hill 1–3: Hiroyuki Owaku, Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, and Yamaoka-san being the only member of those three that worked on SH4.

“Team Silent will make a SH game when Sasquatch returns to Bluff Creek, or Plesiosaurs once again inhabit Loch Ness,” Shatsky adds.

yhea. i love SH1-4 as anyone else (maybe not 4, but I liked it too), but the whole notion of a Silent Team was always dubious and more a more I agree to it being bullshit.

What is impressive is that this game will feature such techs and be sold at $10 and with 5 to 6 hours of gameplay, it will easily be on par with big budget titles.

just because the god-rays tech look awfull compared to big budget AAA titles like bulletstorm or that reflections don't do much in environment side, isn't a reason to dismiss a game.
I find funny that the main protagonist model is as impressive as the best games out there, and puts SH: Downpour to shame... and the game will cost a fraction.

Are you really using Heavy Rain as a benchmark? That would be like someone complaining that game graphics didn't all look like Dragons Lair back in the early 80's. Not that HR is THAT great looking imo, but seriously, it is a semi-interactive movie, that is made of mostly QTE's and semi open sections that don't even let you adjust the camera. I think it is a little easier to create a very nice looking game when all you have to render is one section of a room with a really nice looking character that follows scripted paths.

I for one think Amy actually looks pretty good. Graphics wise it is very nice looking for a DL game. I actually like the premise as well, since I have yet to play a good horror game other than Dead Space this generation.

Now I found out that the little girl, Amy, is acually a Autistic child we have to protect. Neat... a little Yorda, but hopefully not wraped in a short & repetitive gameplay like Ico. Never again,
