Another EDFX video

Another EDFX video

As promised here is another video of Earth Defense Force X, this time with enemies a tad more dangerous than a giant ant. I must admit I'm totally taken by surprise by how much fun this game can be, it's like a reminder of what mindlessly fun games can be even with a small budget.

It's like this dev has the technical programming talent most devs wish they had but lacking in the ideas department. Giant ants, flying saucers and ball-jointed early 1920's robots. Oh and infinite rockets.

That engine would make for an excellent free roamer, they should seriously think about it.

if these guys had a decent sized budget, they could turn this into a decent game, shame its so rough as it is, looks like it plays like a 2d shooter in a 3d world, hold shoot and dodge bullets

These guys made Robot Alchemical Drive. That's really about all I need to know to buy the game.

  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Tiz: Most big games were larger than what a standard CD-ROM disc could store, so it wasn't unusual that pirated games were lacking audio tracks or movies. (3 Hours ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Tiz: Sega used a proprietary GD-ROM format (about 1GB discs) for storage. It did not stop piracy though as you with a bootdisc could start cd-r copies without the need to hard mod the console. (3 Hours ago)

GriftGFX I think it was apparent to people.. even before the system launched.. that the early launch of the Dreamcast was risky. So I can see how EA might want to play hardball to sweeten the deal on said risk (6 Hours ago)
