Trailer PC Xbox 360 PS3

As revealed yesterday by Snoopers here comes a new Assassin's Creed 2 trailer, and a quite good one at that!

What is up with the justice music, it doesn't fit the atmosphere at all and the trailer isn't even well edited to it. I recall a great trailer of AC 1 with Unkle's "lonely soul" which was beautifully done instead of this one =/

Yeah that was a horrible music choice. It's like he's walking in slow motion into a Disco.

Yeah, the editing is average at most, and the choice of Justice strikes more as opportunist than clever.

Besides, even if AC2 is my most anticipated game of the year, I really don't like the color palette compared to the first one.

Awful music, don't understand why they are using techno music for this game, same goes for Dragon Age, that awful Matrix music doesn't fit at all.

Crazy Canadian developers

wow, the E3 Onstage demo gameplay was more epic and cinematic than a edited bullshit trailer? Fire those editors.

That's no techno shit, it's electro. >.<

I love Justice but this trailer is horrible. They should look at what R* does, I didn't like the music before they put it into their BoGT trailer.

Justice are awesome, so no one should be dissing them directly. Unfortunately, it's an awful choice of music in terms of being appropriate.

Didn't fit. At all.

I knew a music like this would happen, I hoped for not another modern music for such a setting, its a atmosphere killer, damn Ubisoft.
But ah well, atleast we Jesper Kyd wont do the same.

Anyways, the trailer was good, didn't expect much really.

What's he meant to be this time anyway? Obviously not a monk. A courtesan, perhaps, but one that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Theres something off about the look of it, whether its deliberate or not, but a lot of the detail is gone and everything looks very flat. For a game out in a couple of months you would think they would be trying to blow us away with any media they release.

Agreed. It's like they tried to hard to match the aesthetic of Altair, but in a different time and place, and ended up with a character that looks a bit out of place. Don't get me wrong, it's still one of the better designed characters around (at least he's not another meat head army dude with a gun which is only matched in its outlandish size by his chest and neck), but, kinda like Altair, I find myself asking, Do people really not notice this guy? Does he really get lost in a crowd? Active suspension of disbelief on this one, for sure. Anyway, I assumed he was an assassin, like Altair, and that was something of a uniform for them--though this one altered by the intervening history and geography.

But that brings me to another point about this character: I hope he stands out from Altair as his own man. I mean, I'm sure he'll have his own story and all, but I wonder how many animations and behaviors will be imported for AC1. If it's too many, as much of the climbing/fighting has suggested to me, the characters in AC2 will lose realism to me. That is to say, the character won't have any *gameplay* personality, which can contribute to the "reality" of the character, as well as the world in which it exists, as much as how they look or sound, or their background story. Some sports games, for instance, suffer from this: no matter how much the players *look* like their real life counterparts, if they *all* play the same, then the game may not feel as organic and living as one in which the players *play* like real life.

Make no mistake, I love Altair. I love AC. I'm pumped about a sequel, even if it is merely an expanded version of the first game. But why make a new character if he feels like the old one? Why ditch Altair if this guy turns out to be Altairo (that's Italian for Altair, if you're wondering), which will only make them seem like robotic copies of one another as opposed to individual men?

oh, and the music was stupid.

LMAO @ the music. That trailer was awful! Was it trying to be like a GTA game or something? I'm hoping the game is great, but that trailer was an abomination.

looks good.. gotta say that the world looks noticably more empty when compared to AC1 in that trailer.

I really hope theres a decent mission structure there this time. The first AC looked great, and i loved the combat (something batman reminded me alot of), but the game itself was so damn boring that i couldnt force the enthusiasm to finish it

Does anyone know if the original AC was region-free or not?

I'm really liking the AC2: Black Edition (featured in the trailer), however it is (as of right now) to the best of my knowledge, apparently not being sold in North America.

North American AC fans got shafted royally on the special edition for the original. The Euros and Asians got a gloriously awesome 12" figurine of Altair in their special ed, all we got as a crummy 3" version with a lousy "making of" DVD.

I was willing to pay top dollar for the AC1 special ed, but Ubisoft decided to forsaken it's North American customers. Not again if I can help it. If there is any chance that AC2 is region-free, than I am importing the black edition. If not, then screw Ubisoft, I'll just get AC2 standard edition . . . pre-owned.

So I am hoping that AC1 was region-free, as that may be an indicator that AC2 may have a good chance of being region-free as well.

AC1 PAL was region free.

Seriously this is perhaps the worst edited trailer i've seen for a long time.

haha I don't think there's any chance of that happening. The first one had some issues for sure but it still sold 6+ million copies. Even if half the initial adopters don't come back for the sequel you're still going to get some new customers and sales should be virtually guaranteed to be at least 3 or 4 mil when it's all said and done.

I enjoyed the first one even with it's mission design flaws and will definitely be picking this up day one.
