LIBERATE VICTORIAN LONDON FROM OPRESSION IN
ASSASSIN’S CREED® SYNDICATE

London, UK — May 12, 2015 — Today, Ubisoft® announced that Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate, the newest installment in the blockbuster Assassin’s Creed franchise, will be available worldwide on October 23 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The Windows PC version will be available this autumn.

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec in collaboration with eight other Ubisoft studios*, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is an epic single player experience set in London during the height of the Industrial Revolution, an incredible age of invention that transforms the lives of millions. During this time, the gap between the poor and the rich expands exponentially, making workers’ lives little more than legalised slavery. The lower classes fight for survival by forming a new kind of family – gangs – and adapting to life in the criminal underworld. Players will embody both Jacob Frye and Evie Frye, twin Assassins raised to follow the Creed. Jacob, a determined, hot-headed and rebellious leader of an underground gang, is vastly different than his sister Evie, a master of stealth and control. Together, Jacob and Evie team up to challenge rivals, plutocrats and Templars alike to free the masses from poverty and corruption, and, ultimately, wrestle back control of London.

In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, players explore the largest, most modern open-world city ever created in an Assassin’s Creed game. The fighting is more brutal than ever, as players combat rival gangs and grow their sphere of influence throughout London using new weapons, including brass knuckles, a kukri knife, a revolver and the Assassin’s gauntlet. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate also includes innovative navigation and transportation throughout the open world, including a rope launcher for scaling tall Victorian buildings, zip-lining from rooftop to rooftop or performing aerial assassinations, and horse-drawn carriages and high-speed trains for free-running, tracking down enemies or escaping after daring raids.

"The ability to lead an underground gang, commandeer any vehicle on hand and use modern tools to take on an expansive and fast-paced Victorian London sets this game apart,” said Marc-Alexis Côté, Creative Director at Ubisoft. “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate has been in development for more than two years and this new modern take on the living open world will please Assassin’s Creed fans and newcomers alike.”

Thanks for the high quality videos!

PS. @b0vril: Why didn't you say you were one of the developers of AC: Syndicate?

Stealthly putting your name in the game is nice though. =P

Maybe this game will actually work, but i doubt it. The amount of bugs and performance issues in Unity was ridiculous.

Do not pre-order this. Unless you're a fool.

Unity was a huge let-down, and this is putting aside the post-launch technical problems.

It had a bland story, combat felt worse than previous games, missions were remarkably lame.
Its positives were the new parkour, Paris was gigantic and beautiful, graphics and cutscenes were amazingly well done.

Whistling! A feature that has been around since AC2. And human shields were a key feature from AC3/AC4. Since there's going to be more gunplay in this game, it only makes sense to bring back human shields. Fortunately, whistling seems to be back.

Now that the setting for once does not involve a major revolution happening the background, for once Ubisoft can stop getting confused over what story they want to make. Now, they have much more freedom.

Indeed.

Its AC Unity in victorian era.
Only thing good was the grappling hook to zip up fast, everything else looked like same old boring shit AC has been known for (except BF).

Also, why use Arno look-a-like face again? lol
Unimaginative stubbly guy across the series unless they are very very old (except Connor from AC3).
Either that or devs use Nathan Drake face-style as their go-to.

I like how he say's "the possibilities are endless" with carriages...after telling us all the possibilities.

This looks really nice visually, like a victorian painting come to life. But I'm surprised they showed it in this early state where you can clearly see broken animations and dodgy AI. Would also be nice if he wasn't fighting the same handful of people throughout the trailer...they really could do with more skins.

Like the setting though, more interesting...or least should be more interesting.

Waiting for Jack the Ripper preorder bonus/dlc

This still 4 player co-op? I can't imagine them releasing it in the same state as the last one

Ok. So you get an Indian guy and a woman as your mates. That would've been believable and fitting if the game took place in 21st century. Not in 19th. Sometimes I can't help but feel like PC dictates artists what to do. And that's sad.

Are Ubi too dumb to realise October is Autumn? In fact it's almost winter so when exactly is the PC version coming out?

What I like the most? No online features or co-op, just single player. Like the old times.

Characters in movie sequences took a downgrade from Unity. It looks like a hybrid of AC Rogue and Unity now. Lighting is a mixture of both games too, NPC crowds are much fewer and distant objects are still switching from low res to high res. this game has just under 6 months to make changes.

Thank you so much for this. Its incredible how many people try to defend the game saying the glitches aren't that bad or its not that broken when, like you said, even without a single glitch, it still was an awful step down for the series. What happened to the present day story, picking up enemy weapons, human shields etc?

@Grimbarian and @fastica I agree with you 100%. A week after the console release it will be winter lol, so when is it out???
I also want certain games to be single player focused only and they benefit from this too. Look at the masterpieces last year that were The Evil Within, Wolfenstein The New Order, Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordor as proof of this.

That's a hell of a long time when you consider the amount of people working on it. Pretty sure those horendous looking unity screens leaked less then 6 months before the final game released which ended up looking almost a generation better. Crunch is when they polish up. I'm surprised they showed the game this early tbh.

I'm looking forward to this though. I'm a sucker for the time period, i just wish the protag was more bill sykes then posh cunt.
