Xbox 360 PS3

It's not often we put something other than "Game X images" in the news topic, but I just had to use some extra word this time. Activision just released these images, and they just look fantastic. It's great to see how Tony Hawk was SUPPOSED to look from the start on Xbox 360. Thinking of this and the leaked animation trailer makes me all dizzy about it already.

Awesome is right. It's about god damn time they kicked the graphics up a notch. This graphical stride along with the stride they seem to be taking with animation could bring this series back. Here's to hoping.

Chances are they might beef up the graphics a bit more and thats what I'm hoping for in this series.

The environments look awesome, but one thing I notice is that all of the characters faces are always looking diriectly foward. I know it might be hard to do, but it would be cool if your character would look around.

**EDIT** I just lied. In picture 1, 4, and 10 the character is looking at his board.

Like most games today the texture and lighting look pretty good but the geometry still leaves something to be desired. I am not bitching or saying it looks like crap I just personally don't think with the power of these next-gen systems we should still be seeing sharp edges on curved sufaces, specially if there is only one model on the screen at a time. I may be spoiled but I was really hoping for Table Tennis or UE3 quality charecter models.

im not tryin to be a bitch about this but the aliasing on the right knee of picture 8 is an example of some of the work that needs to be done. im still going to get this though

i completed all of TH:AW and still thought it was an above average game. maybe if neversoft had some competition in the skateboarding genre i would feel differently. but as they are the only ones then the annual tony hawk game is good enough to satisfy my needs

Remember that they often put anti-aliasing in the game at the end of the development cycle. Just look at Chromehounds, and how it used to look. I had in mind that there's at least 5 months left till release when I wrote the news.

a tony hawks game with half life 2 grade graphics, count me in. From what I hear about this its gonna have lots of people on screen, crowds and stuff. If they can get all that implemented and it looking as good as this, this games gonna rock.

These shots look like crap compared to the E3 video. Are these really 360 shots or Xbox 1 shots? If it's the former, then I'm disappointed. Look at the guys hand in the first shot. It look horrible. In the same image, look at the triangular banners to the left...They're 2D.

I don't doubt that this will be a fun game, but these shots definately don't do the 360 justice.

the animation test video leaked around e3 had MUCH better graphics thatn this crap. Hope it ends up looking that good.

yeah the graphics are ok but nothing spectacular. Compared to the previous Tony Hawk game, yeah looks great.. but compared to what the 360 is capable of, not that impressive.

Give them time guys I'm sure they'll eventually look better. You can see that there will be progress. Its a work in progress and I like what I see so far of course its missing some post processing effects.

I'd say wait awhile until we see this baby in motion. I think it'll all come together then.

The actual graphics of this game aren't anything terribly special. Average at BEST. But the animation video that was leaked a while ago looked amazing. :]

Afterall a game built from the ground up for the ps3 and 360 will most definetly look better than that in motion give it time.

unless they actually add better animation and more appropriate physics this game is going to suck as bad as TH:AW. Besides PDZ TH:AW was the worst launch title.

The visuals would fit in well on the original xbox, though it still wouldn't come close to being the best looking title on xbox.
