I would love to get this remaster using Unreal Engine 4 on PC, plus it contains all DLCs, which is great considering some DLCs were exclusive to PS3 - even in the GOTY editions.

I wonder how long WB will keep acting like the PC players don't matter at all just because of an epic screw up that was entirely their fault for being cheapskates and giving the PC porting work of Batman: Arkham Knight to Iron Galaxy - the worst porting company I can think of.

A single person on the Steam Forums made a tool called BMT - Batman Tweak 2 days after the game's release, and after 3 months of work on the tool, it fixed almost all of the problems with the PC version. The tool has a 5 Stars rating after 309 user reviews, basically a "Perfect Score".

The author of the tool also explains in much detail what each setting of his tool does and how it affects the game in a very detailed manual, which in turn explains a lot how big Iron Galaxy's incompetence was.

Batman Tweak - Utility to Tweak Performance (v1.01):

Batman Tweak Tool (Software Manual):

That's how bad the PC porting developers were, they really didn't care at all or were a hundred times less talented than 1 single person. WB should hire the author of the tool to supervise PC portings' development or lead a internal PC porting developer studio, clearly the person is competent enough to deserve such a job role.

Plus if that's what he dis in 3 months working for free with no direct access to the game's source code, one can imagine what excellent work he might do if given direct access to a games' source code, developing it in tandem with the game's developer and being paid for his work.

Either way, WB shouldn't feel discouraged just because a single version of Batman: Arkham Knight was screwed - almost - beyond repair, and should instead remember that all other 3 Batman: Arkham games, Mad Max, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and etc. all work excellently on PC.

Ubisoft did snob PC players for some years back in the previous generation until they realized it was stupid and all PC players wanted was to be respected and have better PC versions of their games. Once Ubisoft started treating PC players better, the PC community responded in kind and started treating Ubisoft better.

Hopefully, WB realizes what Ubisoft did and starts treating PC players with respect by releasing PC versions of games at the same time or only delayed a couple weeks with consoles' versions and giving the PC porting work to more talented developers like Nixxes, Bluepoint Games, Aspyr Media (Mac/OS X), etc. Time will tell.

Well as long as dopey gamers keep buying remakes I guess they will keep doing them.

I'd have bought this if it came with city too.

Some remakes are cool, like from good games that didn't get to sell well in the previous generation and ones that benefit significantly from the more powerful hardware of new consoles. These are fine imho.

But of course, then you have other remakes there are clear cash grabs with almost zero improvements made and only released so that the publisher can earn a few more bucks without actually doing any real effort in the remake's version.

I won't give examples, because I'm sure everyone knows examples of the 3 types. But there's a few remakes I would love if they happened, these include:

Persona 3 and 4 bundle for PS4 and maybe XB1/PC;
Final Fantasy 13 trilogy because why not while waiting for FF15, though it should have been released early this year, now it's too late;
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PS4/XB1 and maybe PC;
Assassin's Creed 1 plus Ezio Auditore trilogy for people who want to start from the beginning or revisit some of the best games in the series;
Mass Effect trilogy - should have been done and released already while waiting for ME:Andromeda;
Rockstar bundle with Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire, and Grand Theft Auto 4 or sold separately - at least Red Dead Redemption while a sequel is in the works;
Ratchet & Clank Future trilogy with all PS3 games included in a bundle, possibly Into the Nexus as well - for the same reasons given for the Uncharted trilogy and The Last of Us remasters;
Gears of War trilogy with 2, 3 and Judgment for PC players who only got to play the first game, no matter the version and will go blindly to Gears 4, story-wise - again, it should have happened already while waiting for Gears 4;
Tales of bundle with Vesperia and both Xillia 1 and 2 games.

There's many more that would be nice if they were remastered/remade to reach a new audience and get more sales and fans to incentivise sequels. So not all remasters/remakes are bad, some would be more than welcomed by a lot of people.

If gamers keep buying them that means gamers want to keep playing them. Isn't that the point of being a gamer? Playing games?

There's plenty of good games coming out, more than a lot of people can afford.

Eh, when you get older and you mature, you'll realize that's not possible anymore.

I am looking forward to Eziao trilogy rumored to release soon lol. TBH I could easily name 5 of PS2 games that I would buy with current gfx. Newer games does not mean a better game.

About the game

    KORNdog i mean, we seem to have lost distant reflections in the "upgraded" version. it just looks way more video gamey. (53 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
    KORNdog but tbh it's not the art that was wrong with the demo's. it was the shitty IQ and res. and that pic is too small to comment on either. (58 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
    KORNdog @alimokrane: bottom one looks better to me, way more natural colours. less extreme use of AO. (59 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
    Melmoth yea, i'm a bit sceptical about Luke Cage. I like Daredevil, but Jessica Jones wasn't that interesting. Only saved by a good villain. (1 Hour ago)
