Wait... is this one map 1200MS points? Are maps in BF1943 really worth that much money?
Maybe I interpreted that wrong...?
Is it like a mini-battlefield only for digital download, with 4 maps?
Or is it a game you buy per-map? Sigh
Love the plane sounds, love the dogfighting.
dumb move...I really the PC version is totally different.
I still dont know what the deal is with this game (though i havent made an effort to research it).

EDIT: Does anybody have some stats from Bad Company handy, how long it took them to get 43 000 000 kills, or if they even have come that far?
I am ok with the class thing...whatever but they have no landmines in this game! I love playing as the engineer! GIVE ME BACK MY LANDMINES :.(
I am honestly drifting away from anything Dice makes and getting into Valve's multiplayer FPS's. Team Fortress 2 is so kick ass right now!!
But whatever, I don't want to troll another thread. Enjoy the game console gamers

What I instantly asked myself was if the kills count per platform or all together? My guess would be per platform, so for each platform the map unlocks on different times. Which sounds like a marketing thing. Time to get some tinfoil hats again.

On Xbox 360, I'm ranked #16,961 by kill count in Bad Company with my meager 9,003 kills. That means that there are roughly 17,000 people with a minimum of 9,000 kills each. Using that minimum alone, the Xbox 360 community has at least 153,000,000 kills in less than a year.
Now . . . given that:
A) there are thousands of additional players ranked lower than me (e.g., I have a friend ranked ~28,000th with his ~6,300 kills) whose kills are not in that number, and
B) the top 15 players have between 100,000 and 150,000 kills each
. . . I'd estimate that the Xbox 360 version of the game alone, has probably hit somewhere in the range of 400-500 million kills in the 11 months that it's been out.
Given all that, I see the community hitting 43 million for BF 1943 in about a month . . .
Its a wicked idea for map unlocks and items like that, because it allows for the game to grow on its own and as soon as the community starts to really move more sh*t unlocks its a nice idea.
43millions. this will go fast. 2 million downloads on every platform and than just 11 kills from everybody. i would say in 10 days (after the 1. million download) the new map is unlocked;)
Doesn't work like that. 43 millions kills on the specific platform unlocks it for that platform, each platform must make the amount to get the unlock. So we could see a real discrepancy in unlock times.
