It's a Gears of War/Mad World, kinda thing.

I know, and I hated that crap.

DICE should use the Battlefield 1943 theme but edit it to for BF3, theme is great.

Ooh, those little bits of gameplay at the end are stunning. Really love the shot with the tanks: how the incoming missile from the left hits the ground creating this huge dust cloud. Im bit nervous how toned down visually the console versions will be next to the PC counterpart.

But i guess it's a good sign they are open about the fact the trailer footage is from the PC version, that means they are confident in the console versions aswell, cos' why show something awesome and then follow it with something that looks much more poor, right..? RIGHT ?!

AMEN to that! I absolutely loved the Battlefield 1942 theme song. (which is the same as the 1943 I think) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5AGkM71-Fs&feature... good times !

Yes, that is a great tune, but I've heard it so many times by now (have played a lot of 1943), that I'm pretty sick of it. But the tune is great.
Even so, its a great way to hype a new BF up.
The Bad Company 2 OST reminded me of something out of a Indiana Jones OST, very nice.

GEEZUSSS. What kind of PC are you going to need to run this game maxed out? This is very close to real life. Amazing. Is this the next Crysis that will bring PC-hardware to it's knees?

Edit: I want to play this game without any HUD on screen. I hope they do that like in the trailer footage.
probably a type that plays Battlefield Bad Company 2....the engine is more optimized (DX10 & DX11 only for better CPU optimization)... deferred rendering which is featured in multiple PS3 games so I guess its not a very intensive technique

I think its gonna run fine if your com ran crysis 2 and bc2...but I am gonna buy a new gPU anyway

That song was absolutely horrible, just as the one for Crysis 2. Using actual singing in game trailers is baffling.

Only Ubisoft can make that look good:

SC Conviction "God's Gonna Cut You Down"

Prince of Persia "Breath Me"

I say, let racing games, sports...etc. have these type of music but let action games have orchestra to have that cinematic style to it. Works everytime, so why change it.

His question was pretty specific: maxed out. I find it difficult to believe this game won't have steeper requirements than BC2. Just increasing the player count is going to increase the load on the CPU (or at least, it does dramatically in BC2--my performance in full 32 player servers suffers dramatically over 16). And then you have all of the additional prettiness. I'm not disagreeing completely. DICE has said as much--if your PC runs BC2 "well"--it will run BF3. But we really don't know for sure how that performance will compare.

I hope it's favorable enough to push it past 60fps w/ SLI GTX570's or xfire 6950's by launch.

OOOhhh damn this game is hot. I can't freakin wait to run this baby on my GTX580. I really hope the console versions are close in quality to the PC version somehow, or at least the new set piece for console visuals. Crysis 2 isn't going to hold the title for very long.

yea I have a six core CPU so I never lag in BC2 no matter what...the game only lags if I get too close to the smoke effects (like a landmine explosion) but its an ATI problem that hasn't been fixed so yea...

I hope this game is as optimized as Crysis 2 is on PC. I mean the reason Dice abandoned dx9 was to get better performance out of CPUs (covered during one of their GDC talks).

as much as I like seeing a battlefield game look this good, it also makes me sad as well. battlefield is by far my favorite PC game and the game that actually got me to favor PC gaming over console gaming, but its a little disappointing that i wont have the money to upgrade my rig in time for this game to come out.

i could play crysis 2 on its second to highest settings just fine, and was okay with it not being maxed, but this is a game id want to play on its full potential. money issues though, really a big bummer. still, hopefully it looks great at the settings i can run it on and play smooth because this is the only game im looking forward to this year.

I couldn't run the original Battlefield when it came out either. Which meant I never really got into the series, which in turn means I don't give a damn whether I can play this or not.

I'll give it a shot though, but it does remind me of the one big con of being a PC gamer of old... upgrades. Which is like the polar opposite of the current con, which is getting shoddy ports.

looks amazing visually, only thing i dont like is that the main character doesnt cast a shadow?!? which is strange seeing as he has a physical body and mirrors edge did it?

i'd imagine the console versions will look decent. i expect it'll look like bad company 2 with the whole mirrors edge animation system.
