I like the intensity of the action but it feel's a little...stiff...slow, compared to COD...

Woah, this video was released like two weeks ago. How come it takes GS so long to upload these vids? If you're doing it for the "HD" aspect don't bother. Gametrailers has a good enough stream of those anyway. So what's the deal if you don't mind me asking?

Had a real Battlefield moment yesterday in 1943 on Wake Island. Was running towards a hill, when an enemy jeep came from the other side of the hill and when it reached the top, it was hit by a tank shell and it flew up in the air and right into a guard tower which exploded obviously, then the rest of the half-exploded jeep dropped down beside me and exploded again. It was cool as shit.

That's because it is more realistic than COD. COD is more like an arcade game to me.

I dunno that I would call it more realistic, just a different type of arcade gameplay.
This is why I love BF though, awesome stuff.

Although it's far from a simulator (which are mostly bullshit anyway), I think it's pretty fair to call it more realistic. You can feel the Quake legacy in COD.

The beta was pretty fun, but I don't see this game coming close to matching the fun level of MW2. On the other hand, it's a very nice change of pace from MW2 and even if it's not as fun (IMO of course) it's still a really well made game with a ton of action going on.

I just wish the shooting mechanics were not so poorly done. It reminds me too much of the pile of crap that was Killzone 2's mechanics. I also wish it didn't take as many bullets to kill someone. Headshots were a joke in the beta...

I second that!

Well at least a headshot is a kill every time single. Not the bullshit machanics that is CoD...

Anyway, when this is out I'll burn MW2 and never play it again.

I'll never understand why people complain about this. It's a videogame, it's not real life. The damage model in MW2 is one of the few things I don't hate about it.

There's bullet drop in the game buddy, don't call the game a joke because you don't understand that concept.

I hate on it because I didn't know about this for a long time. When someone dies from just 2-3 bullets you'd expect him to die with a single shot to the dome. Not knowing this can cause a serious amount of frustration (it did).

I can see why they did this but it's something I'd like to know when I play a game that has a realistic setting with real world weapons and soldiers that resemble a normal human being without the addition of any sort of armour or shields.

Hardly any FPS has a really realistic damage model though. Luckily, someone will always dissect it, and information about what weapon does what damage to what hitbox is usually pretty easy to find.

But I hear ya.. I guess I do understand it I just don't totally get it.

I'm under the impression that the graphics aren't as good as in the first gameplay footage that was shown of the game. I would like to see the PC-version with dx 11.

The action looks amazing though.

Looks ok I may check it out but I do think the shooting mechanics in previous BF games left something to be desired.

Can't really comment on this until I play it though, maybe it will be improved.

I think it's because of the level they keep showing off in these videos, it seems to go for realism a bit too much making it a bit bland at times.

Here is an awesome video of a more visually spectacular level http://www.gametrailers.com/video/squad-deathmatch...

Hey kids, stop arguing over which is better or more realistic, it doesn't matter. This world is big enough for both... and then some.

That argument is only relevant for those who prefer a more realistic style, like myself. I can have fun with COD as long as I constantly remind myself that it is more arcade-like. It still pisses me off on a regular basis, though. True realism in shooters isn't practical- in real life a gun fight between small groups could easily take 45 minutes( sometimes hours). You can do a better job to suspend disbelief by having a sense of weight, requiring leading your target, having to adjust for distance, and having adequate bullet penetration( COD's is so lame, IMO). If I'm running around with an SMG, I should have to worry about a douche with a knife running straight at me and coming out on top.

IMO, the shooting mechanics are everything Killzone 2 was trying to acheive, but missed by going overboard...

There's no need to go on and on. Forums and message boards are always full of these pointless arguments.

Then what's the point of the forum then, if not to talk about it? These are important things in shooters for me, so it's worth reading/talking about. 90% of conversations are retreads anyway, so why talk at all?...
