Beautiful Katamari demo video

Beautiful Katamari demo video

After the incredible demo of Bioshock yesterday, here comes a very different one with Beautiful Katamari Damacy. Our friend DjMizuhara sent us this video, and as you can see it's very short. Also worth noting is that it's not available for europeans Live accounts, most likely because it's exclusive to the Official Xbox Magazine. How nice.

How my god, I got tired just lookin' at the video, never played it though, but just seeing the clip I can't see what all the fuzz is about...won't gameplay get repetitive?

Looks like an xbla game and seems really boring.

It's a really fun and original game and well worth the full price.

Im not even interested in Katamari anymore, after playing the previous versions and seeing this for a while, they would have to do something drastic for me to be wanting to get my hands on this and from what ive seen, in not gonna even download the demo.

might be fun...

but I understand why there is no PS3 version... just pop in your old PS2 katamaris...

I tried playing the demo in the OXM magazine... it... um... looked like the ps2 game... exactly like the ps2 game.

I have to admit that I was quite dissapointed. The graphics are horrible (not the art style, the execution): tearing, stuttering, never completely smooth nor 60 fps (or at least a steady 30).

Furthermore, the controls didn't work for me that well. In fact, sometimes I just couldn't control the damn thing (Prince). At some points it wouldn't even move. Why make such complicated controls, when it could have been so easy. Left thumbstick for navigation, right one for the camera. Namco(t), where was the problem?

But well, releasing a bad demo after Stranglehold and Bioshock is okay with me - those were mind-blowing anyway ;)

Wow..this is a full-price game? And..wait..is there a game in there? Roll a ball around and have stuff stick to it like the proverbial snowball-effect? Hmm..hardly an innovative idea and one that is going to get tired VERY quickly.

The graphics are surely not next-gen, and not even up to XBLA standards. The music is goofy, the art style while trying to be retro and out there, is really out there..

Man..this is a game I can nicely ignore..

I'm more excited for that new game the Katamari dude is working on. It's that rubber worm thing for PS3.

If this were available on the PlayStation Store, I might give it a second glance if it were priced nicely ($7.99 at the most) and had Sixaxis support. Surely, the game isn't larger than WarHawk... I'd guess half a gig at most.

Anywho, there'll be LocoRoco before the year is out. I can get my cutesy-quirky-Japanese-game fix that way.
