BiA HH: Destructible cover

BiA HH: Destructible cover

Now that Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is finally back on track for release, it looks like we should get some new videos more regularly, like this one showing some of the destructible cover elements of the game.

This game seems to be in development for like many years.

looking MUCH better, a was worried they were going to release it before it was ready... a few months ago it really started to look like crap... but now they've fixed it up.

Some of the footage is really old. The only things that seem destructible are: wooden cover and the sandbags that split up after a grenade. The destructibility of walls and buildings is scripted and is from footage from about two years old, but wasn't present in the latest gameplay footage from ubidays this year (a month ago). Ubisoft has even requested to remove that latest footage from game sites but have not explained why. It's still up on Youtube if you would like to see it. Don't be dissapointed if you check it out.

yeah it funny to see that people are saying it has better destruction than bbc, whiles i only see somes scripted explosion, and some sandbags flying around.
and what realy bugs me is that people dont even notice that in this video there is a part when they shoot a rocket at a church and there are only flying bricks but the buildign stays intact.......hhhmmmmm what happens if you shoot a rocket at a building in bbc????? lolz

Atmosphere and story will trounce BBC imo

mmmm I'm not sure it's fair to compare the destructable environment with BBC. In BIA it seems more to do with small arms fire and destroying wooden and other small objects that you can cover behind.
BBC is more to do with destroying whole parts of buildings with artillery and tank fire. I'm having a total blast with the BBC demo - call my crazy but I just love blowing stuff up in tanks in online games.
I would like to see that what I assume is campaign footage of Brothers has the same features online with 16 players

I'm digging the higher quality streams. Game looks alright too

something that would make this game look even better if like the trees would react to the blast from a grenade or something like shockwaves would actually freaking interfer with the enviroment alot more..

I've always loved the BiA stories better than even the CoD stories. I also love the mix of FPS with RTS which makes it more challenging in a fun way and more realistic IMO. I'm also glad they didn't rush this and I can't wait.

Too bad WWII is old hat. And the story, dialog, and voice acting are pretty much as cliche and cheesy as ever.

Games like these make me tired...c'mon! When is someone going to reinvent the industry! We need something new and refreshing!

Most of that was scripted.

Looks worse. Like it falls apart into million pieces instead of just shattering. And where's the terrain destruction? Will you be able to blow up walls, trees? Nah they just have destructable cover, which is a far cry from BBCs "Destory almost everything".

The destruction looks pretty cheap, but then again, I just came from Crysis...so. Still, its better than a the standard fare where the environment is coated in ACME invincible paint.

British Broadcasting Co... I think you guys mean BF:BC. What really matters is how much more compelling the game is going to be to play :)

Most of that was scripted.
Apparently I watched a different video then. Most of the destruction seen here was a direct result of play input.

but battlefield is one word, so it is BBC. at least imo.

the damage look great tho. some things are better, some worse then BBC. like the fences splintering is a damn sight better then that of BBC, but i cant imagine every building in BIA being completely destructable, even if BBC is very much pre-defined blocks of damage. and not dynamic. either way it looks great. loved the first 2 games, offered something no other WW2 shooter offered at the time, and that was a good story with characters you genuinely care about. and BIA hells highway seems to be continuing that. should be amazing.

Haven't you people heard of precedence? Is BF2.. B2 all of a sudden? It doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense--this is the way it's always been and it's the way it's always going to be. Just because a single thread on a single message board all of a sudden decided that Bad Company is "BBC" doesn't change the fact that everyone, including DICE, refers to the Battlefield franchise as BF.

I agree that the game should be great though. I'm looking forward to returning to WWII. Shocking!
