The demo surprised me, I chose both the girls for my team, soon after they ask why and I say because they are girls, one responds you sleeze the other appreciates the honesty. It's a small thing but it makes even the little things seem consequential and if it works for Mass Effect why not others.

Visually the lighting engine is a bit weak and it's a hair or two less defined than I'd like (I assume it's running at 720p but seems slightly below).

Overall I was impressed it handled well for a TPS and even moreso considering that it's made by JAP devs and the voice acting straddle the line of melodramatic but overall manage to not detract.

I don't know about Day 1 but based on the demo I'll buy it 1 day.

I agree, I was surprised how the dialogues and the battles turned out when I chose different teams and chose different responses on the dialogues.

I was shocked, I actually wrote this game off, but the demo changed my mind, might not be a day one purchase... well maybe... either way I am interested in getting this if the reviews don't totally slaughter it.

Stage 2 in the PS3 demo is absolutely unplayable lol. If it ships out in that state, people will be pissed.

I really liked the squad morale stuff, even though you can tell how it works. Don't do one command, then that person will be giving "negative". Enemy spawns were way too much on the subway, didn't make for fun encounters.

The dismemberment and particle physics are excellent, that's the best part. They've finally figured out how to make fighting robots satisfying when compared to humans with all the gibs and the blood.

Im sold on the story, will get it at some point and to support sega aswell, one of the few companies still supporting good story telling in their games

Had a feeling this would be good and, based on the demo, I feel as though I'm right. Particularly love the story and the potential that it holds - the gameplay holds up well enough, nothing spectacular but it does the job.

Like others I don't think I'll pick it up on day one, but will at some point for sure.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Tinks: they started screwing over some of their long time 2nd party partners like Argonaut and (to a degree) Rare. (2 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks during the 64 era Nintendo at least had Rare in their prime, but it was the start of real painful gaps in content. (7 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks if you skipped the 64, Gamecube and Wii you may not feel their software issues the same as others. From what they've shown so far they've done little to correct their previous console issues. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I don't think Nintendo can or will fit the mold he expects them to though. They never have, really. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Jim always presents a solid argument. I think Nintendo has more wiggle room with this thing than people think if the market responds poorly to it. A portable SKU for example. (8 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @droezelke: The complaints he has in that video are mostly valid I'd say, sadly. (8 Hours ago)
