If PGR3 wasn't really finished and was missing features because lack of time, then why didn't they add those features later via a patch? That's how they do things on the PC, and it should be possible now on consoles like the Xbox 360 aswell.. Hearing I spent 60 euro on a game that was missing features that were suppossed to be in but got cut just because of timerestrictions kindof sucks..

Tbh I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy PGR4.. I've already played all PGR games, and this just feels like more of the same again, but now with motorbikes and weathereffects.. My time and money I can spent on videogames is limited, so I have some hard decisions to make the coming months.. I think it will depend on if enough of my XBL friends will buy it, because online racing with friends is where's it at for me..

^^ i know how you feel inflatable, i want to play most these games but juggling job/misses/kids/warcraft its hard work finding time for my beloved consoles, and seeing games come out that look not a great deal diffrent (not the visuals) from the last, i dont think i have the time for that, it looks lovelly but, my next game is BIO-SHOCK :D yeah shocker ;) not everyone buys them at launch lol

^^ I'm not sure how it works when you don't completely install a game 2 the hard drive...

A major patch would alter key game code and i don't think that's possible on the 360
Please correct me if i'm wrong since i am just speculating

Well thats ok assuming you program a function that allows you to update large parts of the main gaming code, I doubt they started with this intention so it became impossible to do later on.

I'm sure they didn't start out thinking they would need to cut features, and I think its fully understandable seeing as it was a launch title that that happened, it was an awesome title considering the time restraints they had.

I've been playing PGR4 for a few days now and it's really an amazing game. I had my doubts, but it really kicks ass, the singleplayer campaign is great and has alot of variety (unlike PGR3). There are like 3 times more tracks than in PGR3 and the bikes are awesome (my favourite part actually). At least give this game a rent if you're a PGR fan.

  • Megido
Megido @GriftGFX: Id on't know. I didn't finish GTA5 but i felt like a LOT of the missions were complete throwaway garbage. The main story was mostly decent, but the rest? (4 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And right now there's a bit of a backlash against sandbox games in general. (18 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX There are plenty of examples of poor open world games, but there's also stuff like GTA5. I think it's a bit more nuanced than open world = bad is all. (20 minutes ago)
  • Megido
Megido @GriftGFX: I think you nailed it there though. "The best bits". Most open world sandbox games are filled with mediocrity and some good bits. (27 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Yes.. that "build a world" part is where they design it. (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @GriftGFX: except not many are. they build a world, and stick quests in it. that's why open world RPG's quests are typically so shallow. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX There's no reason an open world can't be curated and designed. The best bits of every good sandbox are. (1 Hour ago)
