Black Buccaneer image and trailer

Black Buccaneer image and trailer

10tacle Studios just released one new image and a trailer of Black Buccaneer, that game with the voodoo pirate you know. The game is set for a summer release. The trailer seems to be all Xbox footage (the game is also planned for a release on PC and PS2), and the graphics is really impressive - the animations kind of look a little bit weird though.

this is insulting, why the games are so shinny out of a sudden?

Pic 10 has some interesting bump mapping on the ground for an xbox title.

Why are you guys even mentioning the vaseline shinyness when the game.. basically.. doesn't animate?
Commented on 2006-04-18 22:43:32
Yeah the animations are a lot worse than the over-blooming. They make the game look amateur-ish.

Haha too right.. its like we all get to experience the wonders of glaucoma.

And the next generation will bring completely imageless games played purely by sound and touch, or games where you can only move forward by screaming "WHAAAT?!" at every scripted dialogue.

When are we going to start to see real next gen titles? Are we going to have to wait for SC:DA to push the 360? They pushed the xbox 1 to the limits and sure they will do it again but these games they are porting over and throwing out aren't impressive to me for what I think the 360 is capiable of. Oblivion is close but def. not next gen.

FYI, this is an Xbox/PS2 title.

oops this is an xbox 1 game, but still when are we going to see next gen, comeon developers!

They have 20 millions xbox out there and over 80 millions ps2.
While around 1.7-2 million xbox360.
And you ask for next gen?

I get the dev/publisher... and their choice.
But you will get next gen at e3,dont worry.
1st party dev will produce next gen stuff, then in 1 year or even two most of the third party dev/pubisher will mass out next gen styuff.

I'll take any Prince of Persia wannabe every day of the weak, thank you, but they'll have to be good, too. The market isn't exactly full of them, and the only reason the PoP games themselves are getting a bit tired is because it's sort of inherently tiresome to play in the same sort of locales with the same set of characters for three roughly identical games.

So yeah, if someone actually went ahead and made a decent piratey adventure title with crazy platforming like PoP, I'd be all over it. To be honest, I watched this trailer and its first 2 or so seconds with some enthusiasm. Sans the rediculous name it could've been half-worth my time. "No then." I thought as he spazzed and twitched through a few sections, reached a pole and forcefully jerked around it with the athletic attributes of a corpse.

This game looks really cheesy like it was just thrown together to milk on the success of Prince of Persia and the second and third Pirates of the Caribbean movies coming out. =/

A couple of things. Why is it called Black Buccaneer? I didn't see a black person in it. Also, it has some of the worst, and most unatural movement animations I've ever seen.

In the movie they say the action is breathtaking and there are challenging puzzels so i believe them.

  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer @GriftGFX: well Dragon age extracted is suppose to be arround 20 gigs but the download was only 8 gigs or 15 gigs...procedure might be different for newer games (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX 45 minutes for this game would have to be like... 3+ megabytes per second. My Comcast can't do that. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX My FFOW DL is almost 12.9 gigs and like 95% done. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Steam appears to download extracted and installed, there's no install process once you finish downloading a game. (8 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer D2D file right now is 9.2 GB's. I think it was less when I was downloading it (now its extracted) I am pretty sure Steam works the same way. 12 gb is probably the extracted size :P (9 Hours ago)
