Brink gets a third dev diary

Bethesda just sent us a new dev diary video focusing on how they managed to blend the single player mode and the multiplayer mode of BRINK into each other so that it creates a coherent whole.

When i first head of it, i thought borderlands, even now i think borderlands..

Borderlands was incredible, i mean you could jump anytime online and be playing campaign with online gamers, and it just was fluid you know? i actually played the entire borderlands campaign mode via online, joining up with players or letting others jump into my game and do missions..it was pure blast.

Brink looks to be the next borderlands for me, the only thing i have concern is this automatic level jumping aspect.

You know there is nothing more annoying in a game when the character you play does things you don't want him/her to do. It can get really frustrating, i hope it doesn't happen in brink where it automatically does an animation or jump and you go * WTH i didn't wanted to do that!*

About the game

  • Melmoth
Melmoth @HR2: a lot of studios used modified UE3, games like Arkham Knight, XCom2, both being very problematic on pc. Interesting to see what those studios will do for their next games. (21 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @HR2: Ubisoft uses their own engines. They have like.. three solid in house game engines. (21 minutes ago)
  • HR2
HR2 @Melmoth: agreed. speaking of Ubisoft, I wonder which engine they're using for the next Splinter Cell. a heavily modified UE3 like Batman AK or UE4? (30 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth yea, Bloodborne seemed to be the right time (new gen hardware) for such effects. like the parallax occlusion mapping on most surfaces. (35 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth watchdogs was first shown 18 months before the X1 and PS4 release, and a year before the hardware reveal. They predicted what the nextgen capabilities would be, but overshot it. (39 minutes ago)
